Yeah i am talking about a new server #40 in fact and getting .25 for iron and if your lucky maybe .5 for lumber and stone is a joke. How is a newb and yes i admit it a NEWB supposed to give any kind of research and defensive capabilities with these prices. Maybe from what you say prices will go up but the trend is still going down here and if you want that come and get it. As for me i like being asble to advance my sity without waiting a load of hours for enough money for research.

I already answered this but you didn't seem to get it so I'll try once more. Farm barb NPC cities and you will never worry about having enough gold to do research or buy resources.

You can start low level barb farming with just a few thousand warriors until you get ballistas and transports. Do some searching around here if you need more instructions on NPC farming.

    Good luck

PMG! Someone call the WAH-mbulance. You mean, *gasp*, that you actually have to...WAIT for your resources/gold to accumulate? That must be such a trial for someone of the ADD generation. I feel so sorry for you having to wait. Poor li'l fella.

If you are a hot girl I think I would be willing to head over to server 40 and provide some gold in an arrangement like this one:

my advice to the new servers...

    BUY IN BULK.

billions and billions while gold is worth something.
You have been banned for the following reason:
Repeated and constant insulting of members and total lack of respect for authority.

yea, on every server prices will always bottom out at the point where the bulk of its players are 'midgame' in that they're still paying large amounts of gold for research and not generating much because they're either not powerful enough or don't know enough to farm NPCs. Then eventually the bulk of the players will hit 'endgame' where all or most of their research is finished and gold is pouring in from NPCs by the millions, and market prices skyrocket. what's real interesting is the fact that that latter trend will never change without a major change to game mechanics. They're currently pouring more and more money into the servers economy and taking less and less out. if age 2 doesn't hit soon and have an answer for this, expect to see prices top 10:1 for wood and iron on older servers.

Default Inflation - Evony designers must fix!

The game itself has a serious problem with an ever-increasing money supply that will continue to create inflation. Prices, in the long-run will continue to rise, as they have with all older servers (I play on Server 2).

The problem is that money is never taken out of circulation and it is constantly being put in circulation by NPC cities. Resources, on the other hand, are consumed (destroyed) through the purchase of troops, walls, and upgrades and battles (troops die). You can trade gold for other resources, but that gold is never destroyed, just used to buy other resources by someone else.

The Evony designers have to fix this problem. The way to fix the problem is to have a central bank (like the US Federal Reserve) sell resources on the market for market rates, but then "destroy" the money. This is essentially what the Fed does when it raises its various interest rates in the U.S. (Apologies to macro-economists everywhere).

One more point, I realize Gold is destroyed when research is purchased. But after a player purchases all research, he ceases to destroy any gold in the game. Thus, in more advanced populations the flow of gold into the game is unchecked, because most players have finished research.

gold is destroyed when heroes are paid their salary, and players get more and more and higher level heroes which eats up a little bit more, but that amount is nothing compared to what is hauled in from NPCs and can be paid for by tax alone.

It's also easily possible in the beginning of the game to get the gold you need for research, just set your tax first to 0% or 5% and use disaster relief till your loyalty and population are 95%, then set it to 100%, spamming relief every time loyalty goes below 95%. Works better with more cottages but its enough to pay for research til you start raiding npcs.

It is possible to run a 100% tax rate while online, as long as you have plenty of food.
You need to start with high loyalty, then raise tax to 100%.
Loyalty will drop 1 point every 5 minutes.
That means you can wait 25 minutes before using disaster relief.
Apply disaster relief every 25 minutes and you can maintain 100% tax and high loyalty.
You just have to remember to drop it down to a safe level when you log off.
For best results you need to maximise your population as well, so max the level of your cottages. All population pays tax, not just workers.
The main thing is to reset the tax rate before logging off.

I have got rid of almost all my markets now, I hardly ever used them anyway.
    PEACE
