After our attempt to conquer for the first time, and seeing as how it didnt exactly go as planned, I started thinking a bit about our strategy and this is what I came up with.
1.) While quantity is an important part of this game, QUALITY is and always will be the factor that pulls you through a fight.
2.) We need to start using the game mechanics to OUR advantage instead of just blindly throwing troops and resources down the toilet in hopes of a win.
3.) Teamwork is the all time most important thing we have on our side.

With these in mind I wanted to give some tips that I THINK will be helpful in future battles. I havent tested these yet, so I could be completely off base, but if I'm correct and this game was made with the correct mechanics, then maybe we'll be able to pull through this a bit better next time.
First off, NEVER EVER send troops (especially at a player) without doing a scout of the place first. Thats a good way to send troops in blind into a mess they most likely won't survive. You HAVE to know what you're up against if you're to know what troops you should send and whether you should send them at all. They made scouts for a reason, and that reason is so you can strategize what move to make. STRATEGY is the name of the game, not cannon fodder hope I sent enough troops lets see if it works. Next, here's a short list of which troops are effective against which ones.

Workers: Their only pupose is to be able to bring more plunder back home. They have no real attack power to speak of but they can hold a lot of goods. The more you send with the bulk of your army, the more presents they'll bring home to you.

Warriors: Two words. Cannon Fodder. Thats about all they're good for. BUT, they're cheap and their build time is low. So while you shouldnt make TOO many of these for your player raids, they're good to send en masse because they'll take the hits you dont want your other soldiers to take. Also, they're decent for valley raids if they're accompanied by stronger soldiers.

Scouts: If you're sending them out for actual fights, you're a moron. They have one purpose and they server that purpose really well, depending on your informatics level. Sending them for anything else is a waste of time and resources. Keep em at home unless they're doin their job. SPYING.

Pikemen: So far as I've seen, this is the unit used most until archers become available. Their strength is actually against Cavalry and Cataphracts. While they'll fare ok against everything else, this is really for players who have heavy numbers of horse units. Archers will slaughter them for the most part.

Swordsmen: Probably the most underestimated unit I've seen so far. They are the best unit to send against archers. So if the enemy is very archer heavy, what you need to be sending in is lots of swordsmen, backed up by your own archers.

Archers: The favorite of almost every player I've seen so far, and honestly I dont know why lol. But this is the unit that 90% of resources go to. They are fantastic against just about all your infantry, although lousy against swordsmen. Horse units do well against them as well.

Cavalry: They are the fastest unit you'll get, and they can carry the most besides Transporters and Workers. These guys are best against valleys that you're gonna raid for the most part, although they have their place in player battles too.

Cataphracts: All the pros of Cavalry (speed, load) with a huge power and defense boost. These guys are walkin power houses with the load capacity to suck you dry. Definately good for valleys and player alike, although weak against pikemen.

Transporters: The seige weapon verson of the Worker. They can carry massive amounts of plunder back, but they need strong units with them to assure they survive to see the spoils brought back home. Send them with your other units and you wont be sorry if they return.

Ballista: These guys are great agains wall fortifications AND enemy units alike, but they're expensive and they take a loooong time to manufacture. They also have a very weak defense. Keep a few around but dont kill your piggy bank to make a horde of em.

Battering Rams and Catapults: These two units are mainly for breakin down enemy walls. Its good to have these around if the enemy in question has amassed a lot of wall fortifications. They'll tear up Archer's Towers and traps and leave the walls burning for your other units to tear up the town. Again, invest in them from time to time, but dont kill yourself just because you think you need a whole army of nothing but them.

Thats my take on the units that are available to us. Now, we should be using the pros and cons of each unit against our enemies instead of the old shoot and miss routine. Thats not going to get us anywhere. If any of you have ever played the old Warcraft games, you know. While its possible to win by sheer numbers, that takes time and resources and your losses are often really not worth it. BUT, if you take advantage of what each unit is weak against, you can wreak havoc by using the right type of troops instead of just sending big numbers and hoping you'll pull through. Guys, feel free to add to this, or argue points that you think I got wrong, I'll probably edit this as we go and refine it so we can kick some but out there and make the name of HELLLAND known to everyone as the alliance taking everyone by storm!
