Like someone said, it should just be an argument between Windows and Mac OS.

Windows is best for gaming, while Mac is best for practically everything else, just because there aren't a lot of viruses for Mac and you don't have the threat of losing your info as much as on Windows.

I'd suggest getting a Mac and installing Windows on it if you want to game. Or just get Linux
yea i agree with you.. but the virus thing for mac.. it will happen eventually well imo it will

    1. Mac do have a right click (You control click) If this does not suit you, you can put in a mouse with 2 buttons.

    2. Mac won't have viruses soon, Apple have a massive team dedicated to look for viruses and patch them. There isn't enough people producing virus to run on mac for them to catch on before they're patched, also the way the OS is coded makes it very hard for a virus to do much damage.

    3. Mac can use a program called parallels which can run windows side by side with Mac, it can run in different modes.
Window = The whole windows OS is run in a single window.
Full screen = In full screen giving the feeling you're just on the windows OS.
Coherence = Run specific apps from the windows OS side by side with mac apps.

    4. You know with a new windows computer, you get all them promotional junk apps with the computer? Not on windows.

    5. Mac has built in accessibilities programs for the blind and hard of hearing, where windows tends not to have so people use Jaws (This was pointed out to me by a blind person while helping him out trough an organization who help the blind and provide them guide dogs.)

    6. Gaming on a proper Mac is fine like a MacBook Pro or a desktop. The reason gaming isn't good on a Macbook is because they don't have a proper graphics card. It's not the OS's problem some companies don't code for the Mac platform.

Hope you all enjoy this info lol

It really depends on how you use the computer and what your purpose is for having a computer. If your sole goal in life is to sit around and play JAVA games all day, or Command and Conquer or whatever your poison of choice is, then in all honesty, AlienWare was the best until Dell bought them out. Even so, Alienware still has an edge on most PC's when it comes to gaming if for no other reason than there massive hardrives incrediable processor's and the common wonderful smartbay. That being said, I personally am a huge fan of MAC OS 10. For the most part I think that windows is mostly a major waste in that it has way to many other little things that come with it.

Whaddaya mean, SOON? Macs simply do not get viruses. I have used Macs for 13 years, fire my email address off randomly, and I have never, ever gotten a virus. (I don't use that crappy, obnoxious antivirus stuff either.)

First off, there's the 'odd one out' effect. A hacker could make a virus that infects 16% of all computers, or 84%. That's really a no-brainer.

Secondly, Macs have defenses built into the code so that important stuff can only be changed by entering your password. These also deflect worms from sending themselves to all of your contacts.

Hey there is not supposed to be religious discussions in the off topic thread!

But that being said, the TRUE GEEK will have High quality hardware that will boot: Windows, Mac OSX (a BSD Unix Variant) and Linux (which is of course the best OS!)

If you are gonna argue about OS's though you must as someone said, focus on what it is used for.
Movie editing and Graphics, Mac wins walking away.
Gaming generally MS Windows is easiest.
Ease of use is a tie.
Server environments the only way to go is Linux if you are willing to learn how.

If Operating Systems Were Based On Airlines

    Mac Airlines
All the stewards, captains, baggage handlers, and ticket agents look and act exactly the same. Every time you ask questions about details, you are gently but firmly told that you don't need to know, don't want to know, and everything will be done for you without your ever having to know, so just shut up.

    Windows Air
The terminal is pretty and colorful, with friendly stewards, easy baggage check and boarding, and a smooth takeoff. After about 10 minutes in the air, the plane explodes with no warning whatsoever.

    Linux Air
Disgruntled employees of all the other OS airlines decide to start their own airline. They build the planes and ticket counters, and pave the runways themselves. They charge a small fee to cover the cost of printing the ticket, but you can also download and print the ticket yourself. When you board the plane, you are given a seat, four bolts, a wrench, and a copy of the seat-HOWTO.html.

Once settled, the fully adjustable seat is very comfortable, the plane leaves and arrives on time without a single problem, the in-flight meal is wonderful. You try to tell customers of the other airlines about the great trip, but all they can say is, "You had to do what with the seat?"

For gaming, PC without a doubt. But from what I hear Mac's can't get viruses so if you aren't into games a Mac is probably the way to go.
