On server 2, I have 8 cities, and am #1 in population on the server. I'm in the top 5 for honor. My total prestige is ~80k. There are people with one city who have more prestige than I. I don't have a problem with the fact that they have more at all, the problem is that 'prestige' doesn't reflect actual 'strength' at all. My army outnumbers these guys by 100 to 1. I make millions of gold more per day than they do. My research is 6-7 steps ahead of them in every category. And yet, they are ranked 'higher'.
Am I missing something here, or is prestige pretty much a useless stat that doesn't really indicate much, if anything at all?
The discrepency occurs because players build differently. Some take a nice, balanced approach, spreading out upgrades over all their buildings. That's fine for them. Myself, literally everything I have built or upgraded directly increases my ability to kill and burn things, or make me more money. That's it. No fancy upgraded marketplaces or high level workshops in each city to speed mechanics, just A) things to kill you with while B) I get richer.
Should I be penalized in the rankings for playing a leaner, meaner game? Seems counterintuitive. Will I experience a prestige 'boom' once all my barracks and cotts are done and I have nothing else to spend resources on so I start upgrading the useless buildings? Thoughts?
