    1. To protect against damage, loss, or injury; insure.
    2. To make compensation to for damage, loss, or injury suffered.

Don't let the door hit ya in the rear end. UMGE hasn't broken any terms that I'm aware of.

Default Lag is just part of the reason

    Yeah, I'm quitting.

Obviously the lag is a major problem. It makes little sense to use a speed up and then wait half and hour or more to get back on so you can continue.

The game really favors those that registered earlier. New players are at a big disadvantage. There is no way a new player can build up sufficiently in order to withstand an attack by a player with 100K prestige in just one week. Joining an alliance is not the answer either, b/c the 100K player more than likely already belongs to a stronger alliance. Now the older players have control of the medals and the newer players have a more difficult access to get those medals necessary for promotion. The older players had to attack low level lakes, hills, and swamps to get those medals. New players now have to attack older players with over 30,000 archers. Good Luck with that.

I had the rank needed to build 2 cities, and had 2 cities built. I wanted to move my second city to a different location closer to a player I wanted to attack. I scouted a flat, and attacked it. My plan was to capture the flat, abandon my second city, then rebuild my second city. I march my army 2 hours to the new location, attacked and eliminated the enemy,....then my army marched another 2 hours and returned to the second city. OK, I guessed I couldn't possess a 3rd flat. So I marched my army, again 2 hours, from the second city to the flat. Prior to attacking it though I abandoned my city. Then my army disappeared.

Tell me where in the Quest it explains that crap. I have more fun playing minesweeper or hearts. I've spent (wasted) more than a week on this site. These last few moments is an attempt to vent and move on. That is all.

i don't disagree about the whole new guys being disadvantaged. i think it would be goo to implement some sort of attack ratio where you can only attack someone who is at least 2/3 your size or something to that degree. that being said, if you get in an alliance and have one week of protection thats enough time to make it where you aren't usually worth it to be hit by the really big guys. the hope is that anyone else would be scared off by the alliance. in my opinion if they implement an attakc ratio, this would help a lot because little guys could only get hit by guys slightly bigger, who are usually easy to hit by an alliance member. this also keeps the HUGE guys from hitting people all over the place and no one can do a thing about it.

There is something to discourage big players from attacking little players its called HONOR, no I'm not talking about actual honor (I know gamers don't tend to have that) I'm talking about its game equivalent. If you guys spent 5 min exploring the game you would realize that there are different statistics

Prestige aka PVE (I call this PVE because you can NOT gain prestige by attacking a player controlled city)

Honor aka PVP (You can only gain honor by attacking player controlled cities and if you attack players around your rank, if you attack people to low you loose honor {not sure on the ratio cause like I said I only spent 5 min :P})

Population aka who's making the most gold

Cities aka how advanced you are in the game

Now as we all know from WoW what happens is you have a small majority (Rogues and to some extent warlocks and mages) who go around the beginning area ganking level 20's and thinking they are cool (in this game I don't see that happening too much cause like in WoW your just going to call your big alliance members to go and beat them down). While the rest of the world goes around trying to drop the big alliance (why because thats the actual Challenge). So its actually going to suck being the biggest player as you will have 15 people from some alliance trying to bring you down.

Quitting because of some simple server issues that they ARE in the process of fixxing.

You guys expect it to happen over night, and it wont.

Go back to WOW, dont let the door hit you on the way out.
its hardly been overnight its been 4 weeks now like this.

please people stop spouting this rubbish everywhere. Honor is gained and lost through pvp yes but has nothing to do with size/prestige/big toe its all about the cost of losses just like in the guides written and explained in detail the person who loses the most loses honor simple.

Lag is only one of the reasons I'm leaving. I've posted an essay titled "What's the Objective?" Lag is simply one of the ways I've spent too much time.

Gazza, note that UMGE opened a fourth server, and propagated the lag problem to that host. Instead of correcting the mismatch between game design and hardware, they showed me that they aren't cognizant of the displeasure on this end.

That's why even a relatively small number of "I'm quitting" votes and half the responses admitting to be on the fence is so disturbing.

THIS COULD HAVE BEEN SUCH A GOOD GAME! And it still can be! But not before we get a stable platform and we get a workable solution that allows players to get promotions and creates a level playing field (or at least not such a badly skewed one!).

Just about every other change they made to Civony in the last update was an improvement. But they need to fix this. I'm fighting for it so hard because I can see how this game could be awesome. But not if nothing is done.
