EDIT: for the above poster, I am not opening a "school" I will just be doing old school methods with my training because i will be out in the country far from everyone
ahh i see said the blind man.

Taekwondo is cool and all... but it doesnt touch Kendo (what i like and practiced at for a bit)

TKD is far to flashy i think... its not very street usable. get you some Muai Tai or some plain ole Karate' or hell Ninjitsu if you wanna kill people.

Kendo and TKD are totally different, did you mean kempo? because kendo is a japanese style known as the way of the sword pretty much japanese fencing.

and I always laugh when people talk about how tkd is "not street usuable" you must have heard that on TV somewhere

    Gonna miss you Nesterus.

On the de-railment of styles, I studied Shaolin Go Ju Karate, ATA Taekwondo, and am now in Krav Maga, and I find the Krav very nice, but also liked my Karate, not the ATA sh*t though...

no i ment kendo, yeah i know its all swords... thats why i liked it. Kendo Sticks, armor... how can you beat that? yeah i guess it is more or less japanese fencing though lol. My roommate at the time (a 2nd degree black in a couple different styles and a MA instructor as well) was trying to teach me.

tkd isnt nearly as street useable as say Muai Tai.... or Karate'
it involves to many spins and twirls and kicks that take too long.

Muai Tai is the ultimate street usable style imo.

Hmmm, Muai Tai still, in my opinion holds nothing to Krav Maga or KFM for street fighting, but anyone sufficently good enough in any style can use it effectively on the street, the level just varies based on style.

TKD that is mostly taught today is more of a flashy style and not the traditional hard style. it has been altered, redone and hybridized so much that its really looked at as a flashy, impractical style.

but in the true TDK style its a very linear fighting style which is very effective.. everything is STRAIGHT FORWARD and all hits are alot like american boxing and not chinese boxing (i.e. in chinese alot of your strikes dont incorporoate putting your full body behind the blows its like, partial use of the hip, where in old style TKD you utilize your full hip and bodies potential).

i still feel there should be alot of alterations to TKD but thats just because i grew up training muay thai and thats what im more comfortable with

Hmm, now that I read more into it, it seems a lot like the KFM, but my instructors have either trained with or trained in several of these styles, but I haven't had the pleasure to learn anything from it yet.
Edit: Also I know Krav is one of the last styles, and of those discussed so far, IS the last styles to be originated, and has pulled techniques that work form all other styles, I have used techniques from MuayThai, Karate, TKD, KFM, kendo, etc.
