aye its one of the top 3 if not the Number one Most effective stand up style.
and everything is practical..your kicks are low your bunches are short, your elbows are whippped and your knees are usually to the legs as well unless you lock up.. but pretty much 1knee or 1 elbow and the game is over. i know.. i have had 3 concussions and 2 broken jaws..

Joshua seems to have seen ATA TKD, that is completely turned into a show style, with jump, spin 540 deg roundkicks, etc.

Is that so? We turn 180 deg for a round kick.

for the record I do not take "flashy" hybridized TKD. My instructor has been in the game for about 40 years and studied in korea at one time as well

I have been doing it the "hard" way, actually working my knifehands, my knuckles and shin/forearms as well as the palm heel. I am working on getting tough as an old oak tree like master.

I would stand toe to toe with a muai thai guy I understand the leg kicks myself, I just have some more dynamic kicks

In ATA TKD, they pride themselves on 9 month blackbelts, no me, I took the long road, the more spins you can do in the air, the better, the more backflips, front flips, etc is better. They are the people who created XMA.

actually you have to work up to that lol, all that will do short term is bruise you up bad.

I take a bag of beans, like dried black eyed peas and i beat my shins with that, as well sometimes I use my palm heel to strike them as well. I have also used a plastic bat and rolled it up and down my shins with my forearms.

It really is funny to me in class alot of our guys wear shinguards, I never do and when we clash I am not the one limping lol
