This is a good guide...but confused me with the order that is suggested to build things...and you said nothing at all about resources...
you build resources by what you need, if you're just starting building evenly of all resources is always good, eventually you won't need that much stone, so you'll end up demoing those for farms or lumber mills(maybe iron)
Most of my cities have the majority of one type of resource, and then valleys to increase that(this seems like the best way)
Stables speed up the training of army. Mind you it's not much time per army unit but when your building a large number it takes off a considerable amount of time.
Could you make it a level 1, and then destroy it ???
It means when you check the requirements to research a tech, you need an academy at a certain level to do so (IE; military tradition needs a lvl 1 academy, informatics needs 3, horseback riding needs 5, etc.). This is the same level your academy needs to be for your city to have access to the benefits of that tech. Other requirements (like forges, workshops, stables, etc) are only needed to research additional levels of the tech.
So, for instance, if you have level 7 horseback riding, and want to have that tech active in a city, you need only a level 5 academy. If you wanted to research it higher than level 7, however, you'd need to meet the other requirements (like a level 8 stable).
It's all Rodri's fault.
If you're on regularly, you can use markets as warehouses. When you see an attack coming, go to your level 4 market and put all your resources up for sale at a price so high nobody will buy them. Then, once the attack is past, just cancel the sale.
Someone's probably already said this, but once you get your feasting hall to a respectable level, you can just get rid of the inn.
