These heavy cavalry units or gendarme were utilized by the Valois and Bourbon dynasties of France so as to charge and break though the tercios or pike and shot formations [composed of halberdiers, pikemen and harquebusiers]. lol, he's right. My history teacher told me that.
Ok, so he can't go wadding through Zombie hoards, that would be unrealistic.
How bout he fights them like Drizz said he would?

Anyways, I had the idea for a zombie FPS set in medieval times. I mean, Dark Ages armies were perfect for zombie warfare! Pike walls, pit traps, catapults, flaming arrows, abatises, pitch... all perfect anti-zombie weapons. In addition, knights would be able to wade into a sea of zombies, hacking and slashing, and not get bitten, because they wore full-body armor!

This game would involve elements of FPSes, RPGs, and RTSes. You would play as a knight, using a variety of weapons to kill millions of zombies as you make your way towards the citadel of the evil necromancer who created the zombies. Every so often, you would make it to a city, and you would have to defend it from a zombie horde. Given a limited number of people, you could assign some to be pikemen, some as archers, some to dig traps, and some to man siege engines. After setting up the defenses, you would go out and fight with the soldiers to stop the zombies.

The only half-decent name I could think of was "Knights of the Living Dead". Anyone got a better idea?
Why do I get the idea that you're making a world just to somehow fit the kitana minigun in it. Even if its a medieval version.

Have you watched the movie Army of Darkness?

Anyway I like zombies in practically any game or movie, so I do dig the whole medieval battlers vs. zombies thing. Are you leaning on the side of magic like necromancy?

    Anyway how about:

Conrad, I appreciate your slavish adherence to reality, but in the REAL middle ages, they did not FIGHT ZOMBIES. I think that throws off the whole 'accuracy' thing you were aiming for.

Edit: I like the switchable 1st-3rd person perspective, cavalry charges are a necessity, and wenches... well, there have to be wenches. After you save their city from the undead, there are going to be a LOT of grateful wenches...

LOL would there be zombie boob ads. Maybe an ad where a zombie boob fell on the floor.

Now, the question remains: Who should develop it? Valve has experience with action/adventure games and zombie games, but it might end up as a medieval L4D clone. Bethesda is great at medieval RPGs, but has a heavier focus on side quests and leveling than a closed-world pure hack-n-slash. Capcom has made a lot of adventure, RPG, and zombie games, but is a massive company and unlikely to pick up a random game idea.

Of course, there are many other development companies, any of which might make a good game.

Edit: Chino.... needless to say, you get to design the advertising.

Talk to CapCom, suggest as Resident Evil, in medival- catering to 2 niches, in 1 game- medival buffs, and zombie killers.

Rockstar is the master of sandbox games. I think as long as there is excessive blood and gore, I can see them doing something like this. Especially if there are wenches.
