Thread: Not Everyone Want to Wage Constant War

Default Not Everyone Want to Wage Constant War

This might just come as a shock to some people and alliances, but not everyone comes to wage war while playing Evony.

    Amazing isn’t it!

We’ve discovered that there are actually quite a few folks that are perfectly content creating multiple cities, taking over or just raiding unoccupied valleys and deserted towns, and of course testing themselves against Barbs.

That’s all we want to do.

    • We don’t want to fight our way to being the number one alliance – it’s not important to us
    • We don’t want to take over your city because it’s there – we have enough to take care of
    • We don’t need to go on crush-kill-destroy power trips everyday – real life is difficult enough
    • We don’t need or want to wage wars on every other alliance – why should we

We would very much like to be left alone with our alliance, to play Evony in peace. Why is this a difficult thing?

Relentless attacks have occurred. One of our members described 8-solid hours of attacks; in addition, there were 70+ pieces of vile, hate email sent. Hate email - from an online game player!

I’ve had several people simply say "That’s it, I’m done". These friends do not just leave our server, they leave Evony completely, to search for a different online game where they will not find themselves destroyed every other day.

This. Is. A. Game. It is suppose to be fun. It is not fun when you cannot even play in peace. We will defend ourselves if threatened, but we will not start it. It is approaching the point though, that more of us are considering just walking away.

There are enough alliances out there that enjoy waging war – let them wage it on each other and leave those of us that do not alone.

If this 'attack anything anytime – regardless' attitude continues, more and more people will leave, and word about the type of players on Evony will spread.

That is not good for us, and it most certainly is not good for the game sponsors.

Well Captain-Carebear, you can take your alliance, you can walk away from this game, and you can play "Hello Kitty Island Adventure".
    Have fun.

    A word to the wise.

I, among others, have made this point numerous times.
    Get ready.
Here comes the insults and putting your "manhood" in question and carebears refs.

I would have liked to warn you before hand but...

Look for Age Two to be less troglodyte oriented...hopefully.

Your tears water my flowers. Keep going.

Your cities help me and my alliance grow. We have hungry young members that are in need of property. We have grizzled veterans that need constant influxes of resources. Barbs just don't cut it at a certain point, and there are too few barbs for too many hungry players.

Carebears are a necessary part of this game. We can't all be wolves. There has to be deer (or insert your prey animal of choice here).

Yes, in Age 2, there will be epic quests for entire alliances to embark upon. But keep in mind that will take even more resources than are consumed currently. And it's hilarious that there are a vocal minority of carebears that are totally against barb farming. And that's the only reason they still exist.

Make no mistake folks, this is a violent war game with civ graphics. You'd better be prepared for the coming hordes, and know and understand the best tactics to use in defense.

And if you fight bravely, and with honor, you are more than welcomed to join a wolfpack.

Seriously, players like you are the minority. Those that fight, those that don't constantly whine about the game being unfair, those that don't call every attacker a bully, they are the majority. You are out numbered, and you will be eliminated.

So please, go enjoy Sim City. Maybe you can make an alliance on there, and a UN, and have world peace happy time, and everyone's a hippy, and there's no such thing as weapons.

And then the mutants attack, and you all die horribly.

Given the huge advantages given to defenders - this play style is very viable. Find an alliance of like-minded individuals, reinforce each other when attacked. 8 hours of relentless attack? If you guys reinforce him, I can't see how you couldn't stop the violence.

Time differences - our groups is scattered around the world. Makes it difficult to reinforce depending on the person.

It is NOT a war game! You're right Wildor.... but thought we'd try anyway. And for the record, a number of our players have been in REAL wars - military service, not pretend. What you propose isn't a war game, it's a (yes, thank you again Wildor) attempt to boost your manhood.

Hey Wildor when you hear of a new version that's ready - let us know.
