It's a war game, npc's are a resource, and people who claim them do so because they have a bigger army than you. Could it be any simpler?
Yet another inane player with yet another inane unwelcome comment.

Obviously you've failed to get to grips with BOTH of the comments I left.

This is all I wanted clarified by someone who knows the game.

As far as trying to oust someone from their farms, I made 10 of the things myself and I find it more than easy to get the resources I need daily without trying to impose spurious 'rights' to a publicly owned resource.

If there are any more flamers ready to pounce, please direct your attacks to the nearest brick wall as you will find it an unbeatable opponent.......

10 NPC farms might be enough for you, but there are players that have to hit 30-50 of them every 8 hours just to keep their army alive. So, if you start hitting the npcs surrounding a player like this, just don't be alarmed when 100,000 archers in 9 waves pounce on your city. There is no "official" ownership of an NPC or they would be treated like a valley or flat and have your flag on them. However, if you see someone surrounded by NPC cities, its pretty safe to assume they built on flats and abandoned cities to create them.

This is where the ownership comes in to play. It can take 10 days to create the NPC cities around your city, if when you started some were level 6, you have to wait 9-10 days for those flats to become level 5. Time = money, money = a reason to fight.

Thank you for a great response

I appreciate the common sense principle of not inviting trouble by attacking something to that extent, but the majority of the cases I've had people whining at me is simply because they're too lazy to send their ballistas on a 10 minute longer trek (This occured in a 20 player area surrounded by 20 NPCs where there was no sensible way any rational being could place ownership on any one of them)

The question more than anything for me is....How the hell can ANYONE even tell WHO has hit the NPC without taking multiple guesses and threatening people at random? This just adds to the overall stupidity of the matter.

Personally, I build NPC cities AFTER clearing out any other player within 20 miles of me. I'd then have a pretty good idea who is farming my NPCs. For a situation like you mentioned....don't know why they would build NPC with that many people that could attack them...that's just saying, "here guys, some free resources for you, but if you take them I'm going to blame one of you 20 people for it."
