Thread: Server Time, what is the point?

Default Server Time, what is the point?

Considering all reports and other times in-game are given in whatever local time zone you may be in, what is the point of having the clock in the top right of the screen that gives a "Server Time"?

A more practical method would have been to use the Server Time (since they decided to create one in the first place) to time stamp reports and for march times etc.

Because ppl living around the world are from different time zones and talking in terms of Server Time is easier to coordinate than having to constantly convert between time zones.
    Server 6, Matricks

Standard Battle Reports thread: I scouted and put these amounts into Exercise and got 0 losses. Then I attacked and all my forces died! Wtf!

That's what he's saying, all the war reports and whatnot you get are timestamped in your selected timezone rather than the server time. That makes it a lot more difficult to communicate the actual time that an attack will land to your alliance, and it would be much simpler if the reports were stamped with the server time instead of your own timezone.

Perhaps/perhaps not. If I wake up and look at my reports to find a plunder report, I don't want to have to faff about changing that from server time, to my time to see when I was attacked etc.

Server time helps with co-ordinating alliance attacks. Say, we attack at 'x' SERVER TIME.

Thank you Sekai, gummybear obviously didn't read the original post

Prima, "faffing about changing that from server time" is not such a headache, it's very basic mathematics that I would hope anyone could manage. But at the very least the clock in your March Panel should read the server time rather than local time, it is here where you need to coordinate, and having everyone doing basic maths whilst working out their attacks is stupid and pointless. I personally don't have a problem converting times, I just fail to see the logic of having a Server Clock and then not using it.
