Thread: Memory leak?

  1. #1

    Default Memory leak?

I'm not the only one who has noticed the way this game slows to a crawl after playing for a couple of hours. The reason I think it may be a memory leak is because the slowdown is not rectified even by quitting the browser. One has to reboot the machine to fix the problem.

How many others have experienced the problem, and do you have an alternative theory as to the cause?

It rectifies for me once I restart the page.

I think they're messing up with the java.

Same for me... every hour or so I refresh the browser, log back in and it's like grease lightning again.

I don't' do anything an can leave it running while i'm away at work or school and it's just as fast when i get back probably your browser settings and your computer capacity. Most likely it's your settings.
The reason i say this is i found that when most ppl try and access our schools websites they can't do it because of their browser settings. then i have to walk them through a configuration and after setting their stuff (normally) to default they never call back.

Dunno if it's browser settings, but I do know a lot of people are having the same problem.

My browser swap page is 7 gigs in size, so there shouldn't be any problem with file swapping.

I have a nifty little program that monitors my RAM and CPU usage.

During play my CPU will be fine, but the RAM goes steadily down until it hits about 12% free. By that time I have to shut the browser tab Civony is running in and wait for the program to clear the RAM (a couple of seconds). Then restart Civony.

It takes about 1 hour to run the RAM that low, but it will stay at that point and not go any further. It has never hit 0.

So there is some Memory leak for sure.

I have 1gig of RAM. This is normally enough for the things I do

I just normally ctrl alt delete to close IE, if I dont use it that way it doesn't fix it, after that it's fine.
