You need at LEAST 11 barracks without demolishing Inn/Market/Forge/Workshop.
I set my standards to be 6 lvl 9 or 6 lvl 10 cottages, rest barracks.. Works best.Quit.

i didn't see any difference in troop production if I increase the idle pop

ok I just found out, the max you can train will increase
