Where I live now, there was this famous murder case. About 20 years ago, this Lt in the army who was married to another officer was thrown out of the military. His wife wanted a divorce, he of course killed her. Well he was from this area, so he dumped her body somewhere around here.

They had 15,000 army reserves and national guard, along with regular army here looking for her body. They also had something like 3,000 state police and local police. I only know about it because a couple years ago, I saw a rerun of "unsolved mysteries" and it was on there. They said there is 500 abandoned mines in this small area. The staging area they used for the search is now home to a Wal-Mart and Home Depot.
