here is my take on the situation -

He asked you out, you said yes (now in his mind he has the greater power in the relationship since he initiated it) then he ended it when he wanted (therefore reinforcing his belief that he was in control). Basically the guys a *Insert expletive* that you should have stayed well away from.

he is telling his friends things about you, to make himself feel good and try to make you feel little. i know its difficult but try not to let it get to you.

i remember back when i was in high school in year 9, my girlfriend dumped me, (new years day ) then we went back to school and everyone was whispering behind my back for weeks. they will stop eventually, its just not nice whilst its happening.
