Default When an alliance goes bad

It does not seem fair to be penalized %10 of your prestige to get out of an alliance where the leaders have abandoned the game and there is noone active to boot or promote. I have written civony help about this, but did not get the promised "reply". It seems to me that if civony can verify noone with boot power has been online for over a month, they could either let us out or promote us.

If prestige is so important to you that you are willing to sit in a dead alliance then...you deserve to sit in a dead alliance.

Prestige is over-rated. It doesn't hold as much importance as you are giving it.

Prestige is important when you're wanting to get into a leading alliance. I'd agree it's not the best indicator, but it is the one that's used here. Losing 36000 prestige represents the loss of at least a weeks worth of efforts. I don't take my time lightly.

Hank is right, Prestige and Honor are highly over rated. And as for not getting any reply to your email. Get used to it. The only time they will reply to you is when it involves money. Of course what can you expect from a company that got its start scamming WOW players.........lol.

I already agreed that prestige and honor are "over rated/not good indicators", however you ignored the point I made that this is what's used here and as such it is a factor that should not be taken lightly. We spend alot of time building these numbers and threefore it is a "loss" when we loose them. I figured as much as far as getting any kind of satisfaction through contacting civony or having much hope that this thread will even cause them to reconsider this silly policy which penalizes innocents.

It takes you a week to get 36k prestige? hmm...

He's just letting you know that if you are looking to Civony for help, you won't get it cuz it doesn't exist anymore. There was a mail in the beginning of May that said they were changing to Evony....now if only everyone called it Evony, that would make it easier to remember....

Anyway, on the whole, I agree with your post. I think there needs to be a way to work around this problem. However, I can make 36k prestige in a day (not 20hours, but maybe 4), so it is definitely possible to do it in under a week and is not the end of the world.

My suggestion is to shop yourself around to the other alliances before you leave your current one. Tell them about your situation. I'm sure they're reasonable enough to overlook the fact that you'll be under the requirements after you leave your alliance. If they're not, then you probably don't want to be in their alliance anyway....just a thought.

Thanks for an informative reply. I did think of something that would be most helpful in situations such as this; if Evony would require a valid email from all host, and possibly vice-host, that they could forward mail to after a period of inactivity, so we could at least contact those people. In my case, the host passed the torch and then it got passed back to him without his knowledge since he quit.

I'm very eager to get tips on prestige building. I realize it's much easier to get 35k now that I have large armies. But, yes, I'd say that over the average of my life here, 35k/week is about right.

It's called realism. If you break an allegiance in life, there is a price to pay.
