You do understand that because of satellite technology, everything we do gets beamed into space already.

Radio signals and satellite transmissions are floating around our solar system, some recent, some of them are the first transmissions. As far as we know, beings from another planet have intercepted these on the way to earth and decided "these beings on this blue planet are insane and I am not willing to risk my life visiting them".

yeah, they must think we are insane! They probably have satellites made of a matter unknown to us surrounding our planet. When we send out our signal, we will expect it to take 20 years, though, their satellites will intercept it and beam it through a data transfer wormhole, thus reducing it all to a 20 minute delay!
