Default Letter to Evony- Re: Queen Contest and Rights Release

    Hello all,

I am very sorry for my long absence and have missed everyone on the forums. I wanted to let everyone know what's been going on in regards to the queen contest.
About a month ago I got a notification that I was in thh top 5 finalist. I then got a message requesting a "speech" to be written, which I did.
Last week I got an email notifying me that I was 2nd place and asking me to sign a media release (I had posted it here originally, but someone told me that was against the rules- so EDITED: to remove email content).

Now I'm totally psyched and flattered that so many people saw me fit as queen. You all rock!

However, after all the rabble with the Evony ads, and after I have still failed to see any improvement in this area I do not feel safe allowing Evony the right to my image. Mosty because of how the media release is worded:

Paraphrased for legal reasons: For use in editorial, trade, advertising or any other purpose and in any manner and medium, to alter the same
without restriction. I hereby release COMPANY NAME and its representatives from any liability relating to its use of said images,
    statements and testimonials.

For this reason I have sent this e-mail in reply:

    Dear Mr. Gifford,

I am sorry for the delay in responding. Unfortunately, after careful consideration I cannot, in good faith, grant you the privilige/right to my image. In part, I have waited so long to see if Evony would, as promised, clean up the ad campaigns. As I have not seen improvment, I cannot aquiesque to your request. I am in training to become a teacher and I am afraid of what both potential and employers and parents may think were they to find my visage associated with what appears to the un-initated to be a soft **** site. I do hope you understand and that you will go ahead and announce the winner.

    Regards
    MoriEndi

I partly posted this so that everyone would know what was going on and that part of the hold up on announcing results may be my fault for taking so long to reply to the e-mail (sorry!)

Have any other queen contestants refused Evony the right to use their image?

Wow! You're my hero. Even though I'm a boy, I do agree that Evony should stop the racy ad campaigns.

good move, protect your privacy, girl. However, I worry that Evony staff gonna just use your pictures anyway. This game is based in China, so u can't do anything to them at all.

That depends on how big they get. If they use her picture illegally at any point, and then they become as big as Run e scape then she can go after them for any illegal move they use to obtaine that status.

They've already been sued, and will be again if they use My wifes picture.

Don't get me wrong, I love this game. I just hate the way it's handled.

noone forced you to agree to their stipulations in the first place. you had to agree to accept going ahead in the contest, which i still maintain as being a silly pub stunt thats worthless.

We will not be using Mori's image going forward as she has requested not to execute the agreement.

The game is not based in China, as Mori can attest.

Nor is there any litigation. Closing the thread as it's served its purpose.
