Because he has seen arguments start over this issue. Because a few people took to the generation thing as a standard of who causes the most trouble in the forums and who doesn't.

The whole generation thing is amusing, however it does not define any single poster in these forums.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it!

    Exactly Abracax and thank you!

I did this because I have been TWICE invited to join groups that want to set themselves apart, and above, from the current O-T population. That sort of thing is highly repugnant to me.

I acquit Bakker of any conscious wrongdoing over this. He's got a fine mind and his analytical bent led him to make the original post here.

But too many people use this generation thing to distinguish those who " are apt and worthy " to take part and those who " don't measure up ".

I do not care for that!

    I will tell you straight.

I would much rather cope with a hundred " giggling schoolgirls " than a single Conrad Jalowski and those of his ilk.

Am I making myself clear to everyone?

I started in OT on July 16th or something like that, so I guess I'm a 5th Gener. Yay.

I think I missed something. What's wrong with Conrad? :s

And I joined in May I think? (I don't really remember) , but after Civony had converted to Evony... so that makes me 3rd generation I guess?

Selectively editing to show what I disagree with.

    That was completely uncalled for.

He has been one of the most interesting posters on the forum.

I put up Conrad as an example of elitism and intolerance of other people's views.

    Admittedly a somewhat extreme example...
