Scouting yes, I agree that you need scout to see what's INSIDE the casle.

But you also NEED to see how your troops are doing to tweak your attacks. We're way past the point where 90k archers will do the job anymore.

The point the OP made is VERY valid.

If I'm going to send 125k troops to attack a city and I can't even see what killed my troops (to tweak my formation) then what am I to do?? Guess work from the scout report?? That won't work because all the number and battle mechanics are NOT public knowledge. Oh, perhaps you'd direct me to the Exercise tool...

I completely with the OP in pleading for some changes to be made to this rule.

Proposing you would see battle report IF:

Your attack consist of more than 50k troops or 30% troops of the attacker, whichever is less.

The reason we take the lower of the two lowerbound is because if we do "whichever is higher" the defender could have 500k troops and you can never match the 30% because 125 < 30% of 500.
