Good. So far, so good.
As for the condo. Dirt on the door won't help, it'll be loosely packed and even still, it'll only do you some good for a short amount of time. Best to bring a welding kit, depending on the distance. Throw some steel on the door frame to buy yourself some time.
If it's a second story condo, the easiest thing to do would be to simply destroy the staircases that lead to the 2nd floor. Real zombies NEVER jump, and they don't have the mental capacity to lift themselves up past things that are above the chest. Destroy the staircase, and all they do is look up the stairwell and moan.
As to gathering survivors, the sad thing is that you actually don't want too many people with you. If you've got too many people, it'll be hard going until your garden is up, and some of the survivors might not have brought food. The biggest group I'd bring is 5 people. If you are really thinking about bringing survivors, think about signing up for a leadership class, and read about psychology. It could help in case a fight breaks out.
And now, the zombie moan, I mentioned earlier. It never ends. Ever. And when a zombie moans, he calls more. Make sure to bring ear plugs, and start thinking of ways to soundproof the building.
Alright, The door+dirt thing
If you get enough dirt and enough water, you can make a hard, clumpy dirt that is pretty hard to break through when you have a door.
I already said destroy the staircase, I think. Which is why I would tell some people to get materials for a rope ladder. Even if they break through my dirt(
) they won't get into the main part.
Sound Proofing- Good point. Same for the survivors. However, to keep morale up, I would probably be forced to let some people in if they weren't already mobbed by zombies.
Leadership classes: Another good point.
Another note: Because toilets wouldn't be working, there has to be a way to get rid of feces. This is done not only to keep the smell away and keep sickness away but also because it could contaminate any water supply. ((Really, it is just for the smell. Humans can take quite a bit more than polite society gives us credit.))
Wow! You know a lot about survival and zombie survival, lol.
More stuff!
Books, stationary bike and generator to power small things for a while. This keeps you active, happy, fit and gives power as well.
I have heard flaming shots are fun. Anyone want to try?
