    I'll take your bet.

    AOL AIM
    MSN instant messenger.
    Yahoo messenger.
    ICQ.
    Ventrilo (free VOICE chat)

...stop me when you think there aren't any more free chat clients.

And "same time period" as the answer that they look the same? LOL. talk about a vacuous nothingness comment, the worst way to explain away something. I can have an FPS of the same time period, and it'll look different because you're going through it in 3D. Go look up wikipedia, and even just google evony, civony, civilization.

The answer is out there instead of denying one exists, and shutting your eyes and ears.

Also, if you want to ventrilo for Evony, go to Evonywiki and they have directions there to set up your ventrilo client for FREE VOICE CHAT to other players.

The speaker business is solely a money grab that does more harm to teamwork than good to their pockets.

The speaker system is for a server based message. It is not about teamwork. Instead, you are submitting at the cost of one speaker the ability to place a message across the entire server.

Alliance chat and whispers has always been free and will continue to be free due to the need for collaboration.

Other online games such as World of Warcraft* or Guild Wars* do not have the ability for you to send a server wide/realm wide message. They restrict you to specific areas or generally to a specific channel...much like Evony does with the Alliance chat. This is to keep spam down as much as possible and the server resources freed for other items.

yeah, thats why it costs 2 speakers to send mail to all of the alliance... tell us another one.

I put in a screenshot for you. now, 1 speaker for world chat, or 2 for alliance message? utter bull, but whatever.

actually they do allow you to send a server wide message in WoW. There is World Chat, and there is also LookingForGroup chat. Both are world wide on a server. You obviously haven't played WoW. explain it away however you like, the principle of chat function is the same for LFG and WC WoW chat as it is for the world chat function in Evony.

As for another thing, you have to be in the proper channel to "whisper". Whisper from beginner or world chat in Evony, and it says you dont have enough speaker. So Im guessing the whisper function isnt working properly.

It does not cost you a single cent to chat in Alliance Chat.

Yes, you're right, good for avoiding my points and not acknowledging your errors in what you decreed. I even gave a screenshot. I even disproved your assertion of WoW chat interface. etc, etc.
