Thread: Poor Evony database security, my friends account got hacked.

the only two ways i can think of that your friend got hacked is by either sharing his password with even just one individual, or he visited an evony related website that came with a key logger of sorts that a very malicious (and probably isolated/no life) person used to have kicks. i doubt very highly that evony would give out his info, or that no flags would have been thrown if someone was able to infiltrate the system and retrieve the information.

and i didn't meen that you should literally help the evony team fix their problems, i was implying that maybe we should cut a little slack for these people who have put out a great product, which is still a work in progress. i am sure they are doing their best, and want their huge investment of time/money to pay off just like i hope you want all of your client's investments to pan out.

"Great product" is your opinion while other's might only consider Evony an average product at best.

yeah it's deffinitely a matter of opinion, but it's based on over 10 years of in-browser game experience. throughout that time, i have been involved in atleast 10 or 15 similarly played games based on hour tics, 30 minute ticks, and 15 minute ticks. this is hands down the most developed, thought out, and reliable of all of them. if you think evony is bad, go play Planetarion for a week, and see if you don't come back with a different view on how well this game really works. i think most people can't fully appreciate it because they never knew this genre existed before signing up, and therefore only have evony as an example of free to play IBG's.

also, comments like "poorly programmed" are unconstructive and unbased, and a very "half-empty-cup" point of view! if you are so informed/educated on proper coding and programming, maybe you should offer your help to fix some of evony's persistent problems!!
What a world we live in where calling a spade a spade is labeled "nonconstructive" (unconstructive is not a word, as is unbased, substitute baseless for that perhaps). people need to get over their egos and stop crying like babies because they did a bad job and someone says so.

If a comment that is real and accurate is nonconstructive, than who's fault is it? Is it the person that doesn't want to hear reality and make use of whats said to better themselves, or is it the fault of someone who speaks plainly without trying to sooth someone's ego and say how its not their fault even though it is really? Im interested in the answer.
