is helping people at forum just about reputation?

just saying, i saw some quick replies like, "hey my suggestions help pls. put it on my reputation" something like, and what if reputations were taken away? would anybody help? geez ^_^

Reputation isn't all that important.. I guess it's just something to brag about, but it is nice to give out rep to people that have actually helped you out.
Rep can only be taken away by mods, which I think they rarely do.. I've only seen one person with negative rep.

nah im not really interested if i get a green or red light, i just kinda thought its funny, after helping someone else, they'd asked for a rep points ^_^

I help if i am able. Its simply how and what I am like. Though as far as i know. I have not gotten any rep votes. Given lots but not have gotten any so far as I know of.
