Thread: The Best Tax Rate is 50% - PROOF

So if you are only online 75% or less of your day. the best would be a combination of both?

while offline, set tax to 50%.

    While online.
    1. Set tax to 100%
    2. every time loyalty hits 49, use Disaster Relief.

= 50% tax on 50% pop while offline, and 100% tax on 50% pop while online.

So I tried doing pretty much exactly that(Yes, you're right ), and noticed that even though I disaster relieved, my pop doesn't increase with the increased loyalty. Do you know why this is?

For example I'd come online at 50/50, up my tax to 100, and start regular disaster relieves. A few hours later I might have 100 tax, 80 loyalty, but same pop as 50?

Read this thread. the lack of pop increase is explained. basically due to tax rate. pop increase is depandant on tax rate.

Also, when i crunched the numbers. seems that disaster releif was costing me about as much in gold (the gold equivalent of food) as i was making extra from tax. so the tax scam is only really useful with 100% population.

You said that the pop is dependent upon the tax rate, but my tax was 100 and my pop was same as 50 tax(50%). I don't understand lol, what's the formula?

This was already covered. The only way to increase population is to lower the tax rate. When you sleep, set it to just enough to cover paying your heroes (usually 3-4%). When you log back in, your population is 96-97% and you can set your tax to 100% and make gold at the max rate for as long as you're playing (all day for us no-lifers). At least, that's what I do. I don't bother with this 50% nonsense.

Default Your examples math is off

When I go offline I set it to either:

1 - ( labor force / Max population ),or 50%, whichever is smaller

    two examples:

    1 - ( 7000/1000 ) = 1-( 0.7 ) = 0.3 = 30%, set taxes to this.
    1 - ( 3500/1000 ) = 1-( 0.35 ) = 0.65 = 65%, set taxes to 50%.

this differs from a set 50% because your labor force (required for resource production) may be greater than 1/2 of your max. pop. and 50% tax would cut into production.

the reason for not going below 50% has already been stated.

one more thing, using this method means that when I login my population is nowhere near max. Ideally you want to be taxing as many people at 100% as you can. the population raising comfort uses a LOT of food, but it is an instant 10% increase in pop. if you are going to be on for a long session using a couple of these early can mean more money in the long run.
Your examples math is off, 7000/1000 equals 7 not .7 and 3500/1000 equals 3.5 not .35.....I guess you meant 7000/10000 and 3500/10000 because you would never have a larger labor force than max population!!!

Who in their "right" mind would micromanage their game all day like this? Who even has the time to do that constantly.

I play this game casually and cannot comprehend anyone spending every 15 minutes of their day doing comfort just to get some extra gold?

Just set a base rate near 50% adjusted for your labor force and enjoy the rest of the game.

There are too many lag problems as it is lately to trust the server doesnt crash and you log back in to find your city rioting!!!

    Not fun at all, tyvm.

The guys used some acutal mathematics there so the argument must be good.

But I doubt that 50% Loyalty rate is optimal if ur being attacked!!!!
