The old ones were far superior. The other ones had to many special effects. The old ones didnt computerize everything and the acting was better. little Anakin = suck. Older anakin = a bit of suck.

Exactly, the new ones needed a lot of work.

The idea is similar to gang initiations. Anakin believed there was no redemtion because he just did something evil so he goes totally ebil.

The first three were exceptional for their time. While the second triology was very good for its time. The problem comes with our point of view in 2009. The originals were cutting edge and blew people away in the 80s. Could we say the same of the new ones in the 00s? I think not. If you look at both in their respective period I would say the first triology, no contest. By today's standards I would say, it's pretty close, with the second winning by shear technological advancement.

Before you call the new ones utterly doo doo.

    Don't forget:

The old ones didn't have Yoda whooping butt flying around like sonic the hedgehog!

And don't say the old ones had better acting:

Star wars was never known for its acting. I mean don't try to chalk up the wooden acting of the old ones as its just its age. The acting was quite the suck back then for those movies comparatively in its era as well!

I just think the overall storyline of the old ones were better.

I heard "no" from my Star Wars geeky friends because they went ahead and made books after 6. So the story would have to stick to the books. Lucas didn't let them write books about episode 1,2,3. Just maybe before 1 and after 6.
