noooo the carbon content of a katana should prevent it from bending. wasnt it 1050?

well, maybe its the "katana" copies, the US Steel version- the same hardening process, non-Japanese steel-makeing techiniques?

lol aww you must be new to katanas..

the carbon content deals with hardness yes... but.. all katanas will bend when used hard core.. especially on bamboo centered tatami matts

thing is... its not the carbon that makes a blade good.. its the heat treatment that makes it so it DOESNT BREAK when it does bend... but most of my blades are 1065 steel and i have them hand crafted to be 6oz's heavier than the standard ~2lb 10oz
