Is there anyone who moderates the chat thread - there's a lot of nasty stuff going on that I'd rather not see!

If you're in an alliance, switch over to where it's only showing what's going on in that specific chat room.

And I do have to agree with you...there are some seriously vulgar mouths in the world chat.

    Edited for spelling...

I gave feedback and spent 10minutes filling my block persons list.

I would never pay for this game or allow my children play specifically for the chat.

    Disappointing.

If they want a special room for sex chat by all means set that up but for a general "world" chat, shenanigans. I declare shenanigans

Epic win, Fenrir and Slaughtern. You two are awesome. But yes, the moderator base should be expanded. Any game that has grown to this size needs Moderators to well, moderate the communications. No Dev team can be everywhere at once.

Moderators should get free speakers for World Chat and be chosen for good, loyal character and good behavior, so that they can whack the spammers and perverts with a good old-fashioned BANHAMMER.

we shouldn't have to switch over to alliance chat. there should be chat mods and the filters should be working like they are supposed to.

(at a real world cost range of 30 cents each to $24 USD for 100)

this means that the idiots will eventually run out and go silent. unfortunately there is an endless supply of new idiots to replace them.

An even more interesting aspect of this situation is that veteran players and the socially well adjusted are not going to waste speakers trying to improve things in world chat, we just leave it and don't look back. I feel sorry for the brand new player that asks for help in world...seldom will their requests for help be answered because the REAL game community can't see them, and if they do...are discouraged from sharing their knowledge by a system that costs them items if they want to be helpful. a lucky few get a whisper from someone who takes pity upon them and will help them one on one.

I don't like it...but I doubt it will change dramatically.

All I can say is that people who find an active alliance to join and use the alliance channel, turning their backs on the cesspool that is world chat, will have a better game experience.
figured I'd add to this thread too
