Angry ok so about the multiple acct ip bs

So.. i was reading forums yesterday because someone said on server 13 multiple accts on one ip is bankable.. well.. What about ( like in my situation) If my Brother plays an account, i play an account and my lil' sis plays an account. on the same server.. that would be total BS if they banned 2/3 of us for just being family and playing on the same server. i understand I'm suppose to contact an evony admin / mods.. well every time i try sending them a PM i don't get a sent report and i got no responses so i guess i can't contact them like im suppose to?( yes i hit send and not preview) but yeah anyways... what is going to happen? I've put $400-500 into this game just me alone.. and im sure my bro and sis have put like $200-400 each into the game also.. and neither of the 3 of us want to lose our accounts to something stupid like that.

People like you are the only ones that suffer.

They ban when reported and why do I care that you banned my free account?
    I don't. I will make 20 more. Why do I care?

They can't fight this. Runescape made it so you have no reason to multibox. As long as there is a benefit to it, in a free game people will do it. They don't care about ethics. If they did, it wouldn't be an issue in the first place.

Well, so far no one has been banned at all. If you have sent a msg to dawnseeker or whoever then the only restriction is to not have them in the same alliance and have "military contact", though it ought to be made clear whether that means just sharing an alliance/resource/reinforcements or attacking the same targets. More likely than not people in such situation wouldn't be banned, just people that are reported as blatant abusers. Their logs read differently as well. The problem now is just that there has been no statement whatsoever as to what or how they will be handled, despite this being an issue since the beginning of the game and these threads in plain sight for quite a while...dot dot dot

Your situation is exactly why they can`t and wont do anything about enforcing the multi account rule.
Everyone with multi accounts from the same IP can just say
"oh those accounts belong to my brothers and sisters"
and there is no way evony can prove that the person might be lieing.

Since there is no way for evony to enforce the multi account rule they should just get rid of it.

A statement would be nice but I dont believe they will ever make a statement on this issue.
If they make a statement outlining the circumstances that will cause an account to be banned for multi accounting, people will know exactly what to do to skirt the rules and not get caught.
I think we all know that there is very little, if anything, that can be done to stop multi accounting, and as such the multi account rule should be removed since there is no practical way for it to be enforced.
Leaving that rule on the books in the hopes that it will scare people into having only one account is not working.based on the number of people who seem to have multi accounts it`s obvious that word has spread that the rule is not enforced so it is safe to have multi accounts.
The bigger problem is that once a large number of people are permitted to violate one rule they will start testing the limits by violating other rules.

    This is the problem,

It's not multiple accounts in a single alliance. It's spamming the system with muliple accounts to circumvent the natural difficilties in the game. Added to the unbalanced nature the game has to begin with.

    ----

I - Win Evony, for sploiters.

    ----

30 Accounts registered. Give or take.

    New Server

    Roll Char
    Play for 1 hr tops.
    Get 8 Amulets,
    roll Wheel of Fortune.
Get Junk? Next account, repeat and rinse.

In time you get the I-Win roles.
Play that char. Only one. No need for more.

I'm only playing one char. I am playing the best of 10, 20, 30?

    -----

    Alliance Multi Boxing.

50 people do what I did but they want Geography.

Churn out accounts and track coords, play the accounts that are boxed in tight.
    Dump the rest.

Evony aren't seeing the real problem.
It's not playing multiples that kills it.
It's the no restart option, combined with unbalanced Character creation and absolute victory with no room for recover and a black and white mechanics.

How do I know? I did it.

They can investigate the reports of multi-account abuse, check the IPs of reported accounts and look at some of the logs. Combat logs of one person multiaccounting are drastically different from several people playing at once. I don't know whether they store alliance communication and chat logs or not, but if they do, multiple people playing together are probably also talking together. There are many ways to distinguish between legit and non-legit use.

Same goes for account sharing within an alliance to prevent cities from being capped, those several accounts might all show up from one IP one day, another IP the next day, back to the first IP the first day again. While it may be that some families travel between one place and another, both of which have computers, it's rather unlikely to be seven accounts based in Colorado one day, the same seven accounts based in New York a few hours later, and then a few hours later, California. There are only a few of these reports made a day, sometimes less, they could reasonably investigate those and come to an intelligent conclusion without blanket banning everybody who connects from the same IP or accounts that connect from multiple IPs. Whether they're going to do it or not, one way or another they need to make a statement about it.

i Admit i did have multiple accounts myself. And i stoped playing them because i didn't want to risk losing my main one. I i have an account that is my 2nd account and is better then my bro's and sis's accounts and i could as easliy say that its their accounts also but i'm not a lieing Sack of Sh** that would lie about that. I am not the type of person that wants to break rules. heck i could have been off just as good not even asking and just keep on going feeding myself millions of lumber, iron and stone a day but i'm not anymore because i didn't see ( or read, or even look at the rules when i first started, doubt many people even thought about it) and they are saying its against the rules for just 1 person to have multiple accounts, So i stoped and i'm not playing them anymore. But also- them not being able to be in the same alliance as me would be BS also. and not able to send each other resouces? thats stupid also. I'm not trying to hate on the game or how the rules are but seriously why punish people like that for just playing a game basically?

while its easy to complain, but there are practical issues either way:

    1) Dev bans accounts with shared ip- you would exclude all those that played from public computers (work, uni etc, serious loss of income for evony), and you would breed a new type of multi-accounts from people who uses 3rd party proxies or can reroute connection through multiple in-house ip (i.e. if u are a network admin playing at work). anyway, the incentive to enforce this rule and chance of sucess is small from dev point of view.

    2) Dev say its ok to do multi-accounts- that would make player feel obilge to create more accounts, only to abandon them later, creating a vast number of dead cities across the map. surely thats not right?

I think leaving it grey is the best option. unless they can enforce it fairly without discrimination.

anyway, look at it this way. Looking after 10 cities and keeping a massive army feed is already a full time effort. Whoever have full-strength mutli-accounts must have really suffered in real life. gaining an upperhand on a primitive game like evony is of little consolation.
