Thats a HORRIBLE analogy! ...

A surfboard would never make it off a ski jump... the board is FLAT. It has no curvature on the front lip to stop it from digging into the snow!.. The board would shovel its self into the front of the jump and come to a rapid halt while the tied up cap would acquire some major whip lash.
