this isnt intended to be a boohoo Im quitting post. because I think the game is fantastic.
however I am quitting(I know, no one cares, thats not the point).
this post is for the why, in hopes that some dev might actually look. its not the medals, its not the lag, I could care less about all of that.
I started playing this game 13 days ago. built up 4 cities, had a pretty good thing going. not the fastest builder in the world, I have to sleep and work a 9-5, but whatever.
so I managed 2000 archers, 2000 archer towers, some other stuff.
and now? 30,000 archers come along and wipe out my defense, take all the resources I had accumulated overnight and while at work, cant spend them or auction them if Im not online. eh, it happens, no biggie.
get back to building, and 2 hours later, the 100 towers I managed to rebuild are gone.
and it occurs to me... there is no defense in this game. I have absolutely no recourse against this. I could use a truce item, 12 hours, thatll give me time to build 500 towers uninterupted. wont stop anything after that. I could port out, move 3 cities who knows where so the same thing can happen. ussually youd expect the defense would make a dent, deter an attack, but no, he lost like 13 archers or something. or perhaps I wouldnt lose the ENTIRE defense, but no, soldiers get wounded and can be recovered, defenses are gone forever.
but I have absolutely no way to stop what is currently coming at me from someone with a larger army. cant build fast enough, cant protect.
anyway, I can make a fine farm for him without wasting time upgrading stuff so he can get more resources off me.
not meant to be a whine post, its a legitimate point IMO. bigger army = win. sounds right I suppose. but no point in anyone that doesnt have the biggest army even wasting their time playing. there is no defensive edge to give a beginner any hope of fending off such an attack, if anything the game favors the attacker in that they can bring dead troops back.
anyway, great graphics, but 7 days of noobie protection and then into the ocean, not so good.
