    - More valleys
    - More farms/upgrade farms
    - Farm NPC's
    - Use plowshares/iron rakes (items that increase food production by 25 % for xx hrs)
    - Kill troops
    - Buy more food

That's all I can think of now

does anyone know whether the use of multiple plowshares works?
    (so do you gain a 100*1.25*1.25 = 156% productivity)
    ... If you ain't Dutch, you ain't much ...

You have to build and farm NPCs!!!!! I stay 1 mill in the red zone at my main city!!! I had to build 4 level 5 Npcs to supply my army with food!!! each level5 NPC gives you 3 mill in food!

No, it doesn't work. Applying multiple plowshares extends the time, it does not increase the production by another 25%.

yep I farm NPC and other cities for food but is there way to get out of red numbers. I hate having to worry about it even with massive amounts of food

That's just how it is, even if you get in the green now.. at some point you will go in the red again and then the only solution is to farm NPC's or buy it from the market.

To play this game effectively, you will always be in the red with regards to food. This also have the side effect of forcing you to be online a lot, in order to send out NPC farming attacks. Unfortunately, your success in the game is now *directly* tied to how much you play the game. The more time you invest in farming NPCs, the more powerful you become, due to the larger army you can support.
