I've always been a fan of Tolkien, and got into reading the Narnia series after learning that Tolkien and Lewis worked together and were good friends. Both are good reads.

I also enjoyed the Deltora series by Emily Rodda. It's a children's fantasy series, but I've noticed some have already been mentioned, and this one is definitely worth a mention.

Default Eragon is a great fantasy read!

I have to say that I am a HUGE fan of the young writer, Christopher Paolini. His Eragon series were the best. I was none too thrilled with the first movie based on his first novel, though.

Anyways Dawn, have you read any of Tolkein's other books like the Hobbit? (Truth is, I've only read the Hobbit, and I can't think up the names of the other books he wrote)
My dad gave me his special version of the book that was made in the 70s. Has a nice cover on it.

My grandfather had one printed in 1938. Was pretty cool to see it. Looks almost new. (Guess he never read it)

    Gonna edit in: Max Brooks.
