I always wanted a Celtic Cross on my Shoulder. Its cliched but ive always loved them and theyve always held a spot in my heart. Mostly because my Moms dad, who passed when i was 3 was really into them. He had Alzheimer's but Always knew who i was.

Placement of it only has to do with professional careers. Most employers these days don't care about tattoos, although depending on what you want to do with your life, you need to think about placement. The not on your lower back so you can get pain killers? The most rediculous thing I have ever heard. I assume you are talking about when they put the needle between discs in your back and pump drugs into your spinal cord. For the life of me I cannot remember what that is called right now, even though my wife had to have it done when the kids were born, and I had to have it done because of my back.

I have never heard anything and I mean nothing, about tats being a problem with that procedure and have known many pregnant women with tats there, and have known grown men with tats all over their back get that treatment.

Im huge fan of tattoos.. i usually get an idea of what i want on a whim.. then i will speak w/ my artist a few times.. n' be like Heres what im thinking.. what place can you make it fit the best and what shading would be most ideal?..

we throw around some ideas.. set up two or 3 sessions then get it going .. but most of mine on my arms (i have 3 on each arm) were done on Whims like i walked in and said hey i want something on both arms.. so we surf the net pick out a couple things n' slap them down on my arms.

DONT LET ANYONE LIE TO YOU.. tattoos effin hurt!

    Heres some of my work

the cherry blossoms were done w/ Plastic based PINK instead of Metallic.. since plastics stay brighter and look better longer (but they are carcinogenic so u cant use a whole lot LOL)

This one hurt like the ****ens and my tan takes away from the awesome shading but its a fallen angel w/ ripped off wings

This one is on my ribs.. i also got an angel on my other side but i dont have any good pics of it ><

Ok, the procedure is called an epidural, and asked my wife about it. Apparently they will not use this procedure if there is a tattoo in the way because, if they screw up and miss white streaks appear on the skin, if a tattoo is there they cannot see the streaks. So an anesthesiologist will not perform the procedure if he does not have a clear sight on the skin.

Merien, you were correct about that, I had never heard of that being a factor before.

I forgot too but i dont because we were talking about this in my parenting class and my teacher was telling this other girl who was having a kid that it was a good thing that the tattoo wasnt too close to where they have to put in the needle, she told us how the ink might get in somehow and cause the baby problems..

No, apparently that has nothing to do with it. It is only about being able to see the skin clearly and see if they make a mistake. The ink itself is completely safe.

Yes, this is correct. It's all to do with the Anesthesiologist and the way he has to position the needle in to your spinal cord. (me is a trainee Midwife)

I have a tattoo, it's a name of a guy, worst mistake of my life lol, but I am getting it covered... some day.
