Well it really depends.
I am actually against tattoos, but it's not really my place to go out and start chewing someone out because they have them. Some tattoos I find to be quite fascinating, actually. Does that mean that I have to respect a person just because they decided to get a tattoo? No, not really. I can respect their deciscion to get a tattoo, though. I personally would stick with the temporary ones, but that doesn't mean other people can't get them done permanently.
I
do have to say that when people get them
all over their body I find it rather disturbing more than anything. Same with piercings. It sort of sends a message to me that the person got started and then couldn't get stopped again, and it makes the tattoos seem less personal and more just "well I saw it, I liked it, and i got it where there was still some skin left available."
We all have different opinions about them, though, and like StormSurge said we should be able to express them in a polite manner.
