Tattoos :)

Getting inked is a personal decision. And yes they are permanent. I started getting tattoos when I was 18 & now have 7. I got 2 new ones in the past month. I am 46 and love body art. If I didn't work in the field I do I would probably have full sleeves.

There are many things to consider before getting inked:

1) If I go to a formal affair and want to wear a strapless dress how appropriate will it be to show tattoos?
2) Is this something I will love 20 years from now?
3) What filed of employment am I in and is it appropriate for this?
4) What are my reasons for getting inked?
5) The tattoo I am thinking of getting, will it be relevant 5, 10, 20 years from now.
6) Never get a boy/girl friend's/wife/husband's name!!!!!!! Relationships end but tattoos last forever.
7) Spend the $$$ and get a good artist, not some punk who thinks he is a god of tattoo art, believe me on this one. Research the artist, look at pictures of previous work, etc.

I have one tattoo of my daughter that died in Florida, a cute little island scene with her name and a small teddy bear as we used to call her baby bear.

I have one I absolutely hate, had it done at a tattoo party at a bar and the guy who did it was drunk and so was I. It is on my upper arm and it looks crappy!!!! To cover it up I will have to get something large and dark. Bad mistake.

So do your research and get inked when you are ready. And post pics so we can all see.

I don't see anything wrong with a guy having more than one piercing. It all comes down to location though. I personally don't find piercings attractive anywhere but the ears. If I'm looking at someone's face, I don't want to constantly be distracted by shiny objects everywhere, and places like the nose, bellybutton and mouth seem... rather gross to me.

And neck tattoos can be attractive sometimes, though probably closer to the shoulder or upper back would be better. Upper arms can be good too, but like Vadrosza said you have to consider how appropriate they are in formal situations.

Lower back generally seems to be a favoured location (for girls, guys idk), although then people generally don't get to see the tattoo overly much, and you'd see it almost never unless you look in a mirror. Ankle tats can be good too since they're generally easy to cover if need arises, and fairly easy to show off when it doesn't.

I have 6 piercings.. 2 on each ear. and 2 lip rings.

me too! I luv lip rings.
I have one in the middle then i have 1 snakebite :P
People told me not to too, but i think they look pretty good. Hurt tho.

way to go sara. if you want one get one. I think you are very responsible enough to choose a tattoo, that you wouldn't regret having in the years after.
I support you =P, I'm going to have one after I finished college and have a job ( I want to be financially stable first ^_^ )
I thinking the whole back. and sleeves.
I'm thinking of putting a gemini in my back since it is my zodiac, an angel and devil holding hands. then on their free hands the angel is holding a shield, the devil a sword.
on top of them, I'm going to put a glow in the dark tattoo saying
"the light has fallen
the shadows rised
in the night so lifeless
here I stand forever fearless"
