again, Turk makes a point, even though his reputation probably hurts it. The forum community anymore is on a downward spiril and has been for a while now. Each day, less and less people attend these forums, and each day the OT becomes more and more aggrevated. GD almost never has a good discussion anymore besides when people are complaining. Many of my friends have already left the game, and my forum friends are vanishing on me as well. Sure I have made new ones, yet the ratio of new friends to old is fairly disturbing. CangleLite is now leaving these forums, and she wasn't the first, nor will she be the last. I have tried to get the Reps to see the situation from a player's perspective thereby allowing them to realise the best remedy as to quelling arguments and bringing unity back to these forums which is vital to the game itself. I unfortunately anymore have been cast aside by many, and I have seriously questioned many motives of those around me. This questioning along with a constant pushing from certain elements of the forums have been making me lose my patience faster and faster as time wears on. I have constantly told the mods to try not to use their mod tools as much as possible and to blend into the community like a normal poster, yet unfortunately a gap larger then ever has appeared. It is with regret that I write all these words because in attempts to try to fix things, I have only made 1 horrible post that my entire forum career is now based on. My apology for that mistake unfortunately had to be deleted for unforseen reasons, and more or less, I feel like a second class citizen on these forums anymore, still trying to help out, yet scoffed at behind my back. My trust in many is heavily shaken anymore, and I am sad to see things the way they are now compared to how they used to be. I have always been, and always will be weary of those that have power, especially those that have recieved it the most recently. Finally, I do wish that we here on the forums can work together, Admins/Reps/mods/ and players to try to restablish the forums back like they were during their height. It will take much correllation between every group on the forum meaning that the players will have to be talked to more by the company, the mods need to stop treating what they do as a job and treat it more like a privledge, and the players need to work together to try to keep each other in line ourselves rather then relying on those that truely have power. With time, I do hope things will become better, and I dedicate myself to trying to make things better even if I must be banned in the end.

Well, I'm tired of these forums. Very little humor in them anymore. Adios all.

I dunno. You have to remember, I think, that this game has an element of PVP that can't be avoided and can undo every inch of your progress in the game in the span of hours, where it may have taken you months to build up. Feelings are going to be heated/tense in this kind of environment.

In other games it's not quite as bad. In Warcraft, for instance, someone might camp you for hours and annoy you, but they're not taking your gear, raiding your bank and bags. Ever read the PVP sections of those forums? They're not all that community-like. Here, where it is possible to lose near everything you've gained, I'm not surprised people are that way.

I think the lack of community is because we're playing a war game. And the attrition in the forums is because people are losing interest in the game itself given the flaws that I see repeated daily in the game suggestion box. Worse, those repeated items have never been addressed by a rep or dev.

well yes, but there is more to it then that. I have seen tons on these forums. I have seen people trying to help get insulted, and I have seen a great cohesive community before though. Like I said, in order to rebuild the community, it will take everybody contributing. The company must be willing to talk to their players, recieve input, modify their strategies as to try to make people happy. The players must realise the difficulties others face too. We must remember the company has many issues they have to deal with at once. We can't expect things to be working properly all the time. On the flip side though, the company should inform the community. Give us a look into their mind, allow us to understand them. Overall, there are many issues on the forums anymore, people vying for power, hatred between posters, violations of trust. We must put the past behind us, and look to the future. We must stop the petty squabaling that has plagued the forums as never before. Our hatred anymore sours others, we are now in a vicious hate cycle that has began to consume each and every section of these forums. It is time we all change. Live your life by placing yourself in another's shoes.

What my friend Bakker is saying is, I believe, really one word:

    TOLERANCE.

There is only one way to defeat the enemy, and that is to write as well as one can. The best argument is an undeniably good book.

I agree. The greater portion of the solution, though, lies with the company.

The constant squabbling and bickering is due to friction. That friction is (partly) caused by an overall dissatisfaction with the game (as evidenced by the incredible amount of negative feedback). Fix the game, and there's less to fight about in the first place. After that, it's Jim hating Bob for taking his stuff.

I have a feeling that the golden era of days gone by you describe was just due to the glaring flaws of the endgame not having been realities yet.

the thing alot of people also dont realise is that forums mods realllllly cant do anything about anything to do with in-game issues, such as medal drops etc.

once people learn to chill out and stop the complaining and flaming of each other we will be fine
Sorry, mate. But with all the new players that Evony gets here, some will discover the forum. And the first people they go for are moderators.

    May I point out something?

This game and forum are not even a year old. And though I'm not sure about this, I believe the majority of people involved in "positions of power" had not had a lot of experience with this sort of thing before (somebody correct me if I'm wrong here.).

So, as much as the game itself is a work in progress, so is this forum and indeed, the community.

Dang, I never knew Valkirah was a spammer. Btw, he stole that from me. I was the first to start saying that on here...
