Default Just to warn you that it might take for ever to eventually get your reward

    Hello to every "Evonier",

Probably like thousands of you, I have read the following thread posted by Dawnseeker, the Evony Representative:
Write a Review, Get a Reward!.
And I did what it says, which means that I have written the following article:
    Evony - Wikipedia.
Then of course, I have sent an e-mail, 7 days ago (on August 30th, 2009) to Danwseeker. I have not received any answers from him yet!
You might think that he is really busy, which is probably true and I believe that. That's why I have also written, 5 days ago to Swensea, the Development Director Asst. Nothing from his part either.
Now my 7 days of beginner's protection have ended, I have done the necessary work for the rewarding, but have not got anything yet. But I'm not sure that I want to receive any reward now.

I am just a little disappointed by the lack of reactivity of the staff. I don't want to offense them, the development of this game may take a huge amount of time. And they do a pretty good job. Evony is really a great game.

The main purpose of my thread is to warn you: Don't expect to get your reward, if you deserve it, as quick as you could have wished it.

    Enjoy Evony!!!

    Calling All Writers and Publishers!

The exponential growth of Evony has been amazing to witness in such a short period of time, and we really believe we have the best community of gamers on the web. Since Evony went from beta to live in May 2009, millions of players just like you have joined the vast group of Evony players and discovered what makes Evony the fantastic success it has become.

Now, we’d like to hear your thoughts on the game and content, as well as the latest events and prizes.

Have you written a good review of Evony: Age I? Are you planning to publish a great article on the game? If you have published within the last 14 days or are planning on publishing articles or reviews on Evony: Age I at some point in the future – including specific articles on items or game play strategies – then read on!

Any player who writes a review or article, with a minimum of 400 words, (in your own words) and has it published will have the opportunity to receive a special bonus of 500 cents FREE! Articles will be reviewed by Evony staff and the writers of the best articles will receive the bonus!

What qualifies for the reward? Blogs, public reviews, article publishing websites, online game reviews, etc. Forum posts do not qualify.

    How to qualify:

    1. Your account must have been created before the article was published.
    2. You must be able to prove you wrote the article (put your lord name and server in the article, publish from the same email as your Evony account, send us the article before it is published, etc.)
    3. Send the URL of the successful publication along with your lord name, server and login email to pr@evony.com. We'll review your article, and if it’s excellent, we’ll be sending you a special “thank you” bonus of 500 cents for FREE in game!

    Thanks and good luck!

    Best Regards,

    Evony Team

Now think about this, you are only one person, how many people do you think submitted something? Give them time to review all applicants, nowhere does it say, write something and you immediately get a reward. It says "We'll review your article".

If you come to a fork in the road, take it!

This thread illustrates the critical difference from "Reward" and a feeling of "Entitlement".

Well over 1000 submissions were made for this contest. In fact, it is rapidly approaching 2000. That's a whole lot of reviews to read and sort through! It wouldn't be fair to anyone who took the time to write a review for Evony to simply read a couple and choose some winners. Every entry is deserving of attention, but that takes time.

Furthermore, if you read that clearly, the contest clearly requests all submissions be made to pr@evony.com. I have no idea why you would send your entries or questions to Dawnseeker or Swansea. If you think that your entry was ignored or missed, you should send your follow-up questions to pr@evony.com so that the team going through all those entries will see your questions and be able to respond.

Default Both Sides of the Story

I've just been going through these forums, voicing my opinion about things and I think you need to wait Androsophos and they may never get back to you. They could have 1000 people doing the same thing and saying the same thing. You cant be to sure about winning either its up to the Evony team to choose and there are probably some really great writers out there so be patient and wait for them to decide. You always need to hear both sides of the story, when I was reading this thread the song Both Sides Of The Story by Phill Collins was playing so I had to say something.

Hey Foxy, just for future reference, you guys at evony should have an automated message that responds to anyone who has sent in an application for the contest. That way we at least know you guys are reading it and that we at least didn't send it to the wrong place.

FB isn't employed by Evony, she is a volunteer, so she can't actually do anything more than relay the suggestion to a rep, though by no means will it be put into effect if she does.
