On a level 4, used to send 500 archer, with 1 swordman
On a level 5, used to send 800 archer, with 1 swordman and 1 pike
with some lost if there is archer on other side, often lose sword and pike
and i've made many hundred attacks, like 100 by night since 3 days, never got honor medals and like 1% of the 3 others we talk here
the math around the battle calculation is likely to force cavalery to stop advancing to kill pikeman for a round, then the swordman for another round of combat, while archer give'em hard time. Not sure if it make a big difference.
btw, i lost 1200 archer using this method on a level 6 ...
edit: for the facts. when i get a medals, always look for lost and which hero. For me, they make no change. Only 1 of my 15 raiding hero got more than one medals, most of then got 1. Some have low stats, low but 80 of politics, low but 85 attack, low but 78 int...

Yea, sorry about that. I didn't realize the reports disappeared if removed from my report list. Here's some new examples of what I'm talking about.
Lvl 1 NPC - 20 ballista/30 transporters, report says 45 rounds

but the spreadsheet says with 20 ballista, it'll take 15 rounds which is a huge difference.
My stats at the time are: Arch 8, HBR 5, Mil Trad 7, Iron Work 7, Med 6, Log 6, Hero attack 80. Additionally the spreadsheet says I need 33 transporters when the log shows that 30 did the trick.
Another one, this time Lvl 3 NPC - 130 ballista/200 transporters, report says 85 rounds...

but the spreadsheet says it should only be 59 rounds, again a huge difference. The rest of the stats are all the same as the Lvl 1 example.
It really feels like a bug was introduced into v2.6.
