already sent you a reply. also i sure i did nothing wrong or bad enough to get banned. Other than not logoning in to the forums for months.
Based on this paragraph, I think it would be very difficult if not impossible for anyone to legally lible or slander Evony in these forums, with the exception of forum mods and Evony employees."Whether a statement is viewed as an expression of fact or opinion can depend upon context - that is, whether or not the person making the statement would be perceived by the community as being in a position to know whether or not it is true."
true. I didn't read it. Sorry to whoever posted it. I'm doind my Homework so......you know.
Logrus hurry up and finish this already I HAVE HOMEWORK TO DO FOR A TEACHER THAT CAN MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE CRAWLING IN A SEWER!!
...Yeah, you never actually read that thread. Nothing even remotely racial in there. Nothing libelous either, at least nothing that would stand up in any court. I've seen you throw that word around a fair bit Thalin, you might want to be a bit more judicious in your use of it. You know, given that even if you did go through the great difficulty and expense of pressing a claim against someone in these forums, and even if you had a halfway decent case, the headlines 'Gaming company sues player over negative remarks made in forum' would just about be the death knell for Evony.
But so very, very easy.
yep its easy. with all that other stuff combined i would not be surprised if Evony shuts down.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to prove my point while missing it completely yourself.
Most of the bans that i've seen, in fact nearly all of them, have been a result of negativity and criticism toward Evony, often justified, occasionally not. Either way, the proper means of dealing with it is with words, counter-arguments, and debate. The banhammer should be used only in extreme circumstances such as very foul language, sexual content, spamming and racism.
In order for a person to stay banned on a forum, especially one with lax security, they need to feel that the community in general disapproves of them; not just a few select people in the upper echelons that they were disagreeing with in the first place. Banning in that case simply makes a person more determined, and often will cause them to pick of their flaming sword of flaming, their can of spam(of spam of spam of spam of spam) and start trolling.
Long story short: Your current forum policy does not work. It will never work. And quoting the rules is a poor substitute for common sense.
Thanks to logrus for solving the problem. Somehow my account got lost. Anyway, Thalin Athasian you never answered my questions.
"Also, you just a Mod or what?"
