Medals FAQ [First post under constant update]

I think the uber-Medal thread that's currently going on in H & Q is getting out of hand, in the way that it's not actually answering any questions that people have about what's going on. I'd much rather have a constructive thread that people can see concrete answers on things, even if we still don't know what's exactly going on. Here are a few questions that have been asked so far, and the best answers we have to them.

Why are no more medals dropping?
Medals used to drop 100% of the time, and that was an obvious bad choice by the game developers. They decided to make it almost impossibly low, another bad choice. For a while people could not get any to drop, and if people did, it was a very low amount. The largest discussion about this can be viewed here. umgeadmin, an administrator of the forums, has posted that the drop rate on medals has increased, you can view the post here. It's not currently known how high the drop rate is now, or if it's high enough to be noticeable.

Why is no one answering the questions that we have about medals?
A tougher thing to answer, but specifically, the people that 'are' trying to answer are people that don't know. Moderators do not know anything about the development of the game, and the only contact we have is umgeadmin. We will give you the information as we're given it as best we can. So far the development team has been quiet on most issues here on the forum, so the best we can do is wait until we get a response.

Is there somewhere else I can get medals instead of from fighting, since the drop rate is unknown/too low?
You can buy 'medal boxes' with in game coins, bought with real money, or hope for one from the daily amulet. Unfortunately these are the only two other options.

Is there somewhere I can see information that people have posted about the medal drops they 'have' got?

Can I see some information on drop rates for medals as well?
I'll be taking this upon myself in the future to spade this out, and will post my findings here. If anyone else would like to contribute, either post your findings here or to me via PM. I don't require assistance, but I guarantee that the playerbase will appreciate more information than I can give as one person.

If you DO want to help towards this, you need to attack a specific level flat for a long period of time. We need the level of the flat, flat type, the amount of times you attacked it, and the amount of times you received each item. Hero stats, I would not mind those at all. I've been studying the effects of stats on medal drops either way.

What about drops for other items, like the Michelangelo's Script? Have they been changed as well?
Unfortunately that remains a mystery, and they were difficult to get in the first place. I'll include the information about this in the efforts of my spading later on. Even if this hasn't been changed, I assure you I'll try to get to the bottom of the rates for these things, and find people who will as well.

Can you even get a medal from taking a player's guarded valley?
This is not currently known. People are working towards proving it either correct or incorrect right now.

Can you even get a medal from taking a player's unguarded valley?
Also not known. Since the current change, it would make sense if you couldn't, but since it's a possibility people aren't ruling it out.

Can you even get a medal from taking an NPC guarded valley? What is the lowest level, and does your level affect this?
Yes, of course, and that's also something we're working on spading out with this thread. The testing is still in the infant stages, so any data we've got so far is inconclusive.

Right now we're working under the assumption that you can't, but it's still a possibility.

Can you even get a medal from taking an NPC guarded valley if you don't successfully conquer it due to having full valleys?
Yet another thing to prove wrong or right.

If you have a question and it hasn't been answered in some part by this post, please post it here. This thread is NOT for complaints, there is already a thread that exists that can be used for that. Complaints or anything close to them will be immediately removed. Battle reports/screen shots only, please, I believe people want to see exactly what's going on.
