okay so first off im going to give the definition to metaphysics & finite for those who dont know..

metaphysics- the branch of philosophy,that examines reality,including issues such as the existance of God, the nature,of the mind and the universe,and the meaning of life.

These are some questions that i disscussed in philosophy class,and would love to know your opinions on,i wont ask the questions on god because I know if i do someone will state their opinion and another will attempt to tell them they are wrong and it wont be pretty so anyways these are the questions...

Is the universe infinite or finite? finite. Let us think of the universe as a large breathing inanimate object. It begins it's cycle, small and compact mass of matter and energy. It then expands from the centerof the universe and spreads out among the universe. As the edge goes farther away from the center it slows. when it reaches it'scapacity and the movement has stopped the center begins sucking all the mass towards the center slowly at first and as it gets closer to the center it moves faster and faster until it compacts completely. when it compacts it explodes and the cycle starts again. this is the big bang. We shall have big bangs forever and ever and the cycle will repeat
How did the universe begin? It never began. It has been here forever
What happened before the big bang? See above
What is beyond the universe? another cycle. and another one, and another one.
What is the fate of the universe? see above
What is a person? Person is a term used to describe us. There is no such thing as a person.
What is the soul? We do not have one
How do mind and body interact? The mind tells the body how to react and the body sends signals to the brain that the brain interpret into senses
What is thought and what are ideas? Brainwaves from our mass of intellect that our brains are possible of comprehending
Are we more then matter? No
What is reality? What we percieve it as
Are we dreaming,sleeping or existing? I am contemplating this myself..... every day and night.
Are Appearances deceiving? Yes
What is the meaning of life? We are here to destroy. to take. to survive. we are here for no reason other than to be here.
Is there a purpose for existance? No. This existance is nothing more than the luck of the draw. Probablly around 1 in 10^1000000000000000000000000
Why are we here? There is no reason. We are here because. it was dumb luck and a 1 in 10^1000000 chance
Why live? Because hormonse and such in our body make us want to strive for survival and to live on

Is the universe infinite or finite?
The word universe can be defined as the totality of all existing things. Therefore, it is probably finite but it is very big and we would never be able to measure it's size, so to us it could always seem to be infinite.
How did the universe begin?
If we see the universe as infinite, then it is without limits, both in size and timespan. So perhaps it it has always been / will always be.
What happened before the big bang?
In physics they call it a singularity. A point where time and space did not exist. But if we see the universe as infinite and encompassing all things existing, then that point is so far removed as to be non-existant.
What is beyond the universe?
If there was anything beyond the universe, by definition it would be part of the universe, even if it was just empty space, or as others have suggested, another universe.
What is the fate of the universe?
There is a theory that time is curved, and any curve allowed to continue will eventually form a circle. If we see time as a circle, then there is no begining or end to time anymore, just points on a circle. If that is true, then everything that has ever been and everything that will ever be, will happen again and has already happened before an infinite number of times. Therefore, the universe will/has always been and will/has already ended an infinite number of times.
What is a person?
It is a name that we have given to our species, the definition has shifted at times due to the prevailling attitudes at certain times in history.
What is the soul?
The part of us that we think of as "self" that is neither mind or body.
How do mind and body interact?
Chemical and electrical messages that pass back and forth.
What is thought and what are ideas?
Thought is making connections within the mind between the things that we have learned through our senses (memories). Ideas are new connections between pieces of information within our minds that create a new conclusion.
Are we more then matter?
We are also energy, but then all matter is energy.
What is reality?
A word that we have created to define what we are capable of percieving. The definition is constantly being altered throughout time as we reach new conclusions from the information that we can percieve.
Are we dreaming,sleeping or existing?
I am, therefore... seriously, the evidence we have at this time suggests that we exist.
Are Appearances deceiving?
We live in air but we do not see it, we know it exists and we see the evidence of it every day, but to all appearances, it is not there. Then again, all matter is made up mostly of empty space, with very small particles vibrating rapidly within that empty space, and yet to us it can appear to have form and substance and solidity.
What is the meaning of life?
It is similar to a sandbox game without rules or limitations and also without an operators manual.
Is there a purpose for existance?
It could be seen as simply to continue being and to reproduce and spread our genes, as this seems to be the primary function of most forms of life.
Why are we here?
I don't know, it could be random chance, or it could be pre-determined and we were always meant to be here.
Why live?
Because we don't know what alternatives there are and the possibility is that life is better to those alternatives.

actually I like the discussion of the universe
first off our universe is 13.8 billion years old ^_^

1.) the universe is infinite because it is still expanding as you read this.
2.) they said before big bang. there were a vast nothingness. when it happened thousands of matter and anti matter spread. for every 100 anti matter there are 101 matter.
will eventually build up the universe first from dust. the dust started accumulating till it formed planets and galaxies. when our universe was 500 million years old, type super novas (white dwarf and red giant) started exploding. the heat was so intense it made iron combine with other particles the eventually made of the rest of heavy metals, like zinc etc. etc.
3.) I don't know what you meant by it. by beyond our universe I believe in parallel universe. something above our universe e.g. our universe is a paper on top of it is another universe. with exactly the same persons with only a glitch of difference.
another type of parallel universe is the one that is so far away from our galaxy, we can't reach it.
4.) there are two theories in the fate of the universe, One is the big crunch. since there is a big bang there must be a big crunch, when everything that came out of the big bang will eventually go back from where it started. like big bang in reverse, this will happen when the universe stopped expanding. since it is not yet stopping. another theory is made when the universe expand so much that atoms and molecules started reaping apart. eventually every atom and molecule that makes up everything will be torn apart even us. no matter which is this happen the end will still be rendered into nothingness just like before.

for the rest I have no idea. back then I have, when I was studying witch craft. which really got the sh** out of me.
