Battle System
Guys, I need to know what the hell is going on with the way battles take place in this game. You can send 550 ballista alone at a level 5 npc with no casualties, but send any other troops besides transports and you lose everything you sent. Is this because the army moves as a unit, so as the warriors try to move into range, the ballistae move into tower range as well?
Also, I hear about waves of 2000 cavalry taking out 10000 archer towers before an actual attack is mounted. How is it possible for cavalry, and only 2000 of them, to ride across a field of 10000 towers firing and manage to do any damage? And if it really works, does anyone have a battle report I could see?
The reason I need to know these things is, one, I'm tired of losing troops pointlessly, and second, I have a guy with 10000 towers, level 10 walls (I can't seem to scout for his techs but to be safe I'm assuming archery is at LEAST 9) and he's harassing smaller members in my alliance. I know I could take his army, but how can I SAFELY penetrate defenses like that? I don't want to look stupid by getting slaughtered in front of my alliance, lol. But seriously, I don't see how the cavalry waves or anything really can do any harm whatsoever to that many towers with level 10 walls especially. Anyone?
