Such a hot topic I brought up I see. It takes a lot of time to build up things in this game as many of you have seen. And yes, to have it taken away, months or how ever long you spent working to build it up) in a matter of 12 hrs or so, sucks. There is no other way to describe that. Now, that being said, maybe the guys at evony could do something to reduce time it takes to upgrade. It is demoralizing when this happens, but it can be overcome. Im not crying. I have brass balls, and I am just not the one to sit by and just take a beating from no one. I've always been the type of person that you have no doubts about he or she think. They tell you straight out. So, evony, why not check into lesser time spent researching, and possibly more time spent doing something else.

Everyone knows it's demoralisin'...s'why cappin' NPC10s is such a big, important issue to people; if you spend 50k archers to cap it in half an hour it's not too much of a loss, right?
All your time, work and effort before that is saved as long as you're able to cap that first one...or so the general consensus goes...but considerin' how easy it is to lose cities, thas pretty much what happens. Treasure a city and you're up for a heavier loss, sadly.

My alliance is good...I've not heard of any of our cities bein' lost thus far despite the fact that we've been at heavy war constantly for the past few weeks. Havin' some good backup does more good than people will make it out to be. Havin' a bad alliance winds up bein' counter-productive because you think it will do good when it won't; either way it's an important decision to make who your allies are.

There are probably many ways to could improve or alter the current situation...but does anyone actually have a viable one that works for the majority?

Although havin' the wars in valleys as well instead of jus' seige-warfare. Thinkin' outside the box; I like it.

    Build.
But it's Evony, it's a war game? Then it needs to be added to all the adverts.

    Evony.
extermination warfare. A PvP game where nothing but the most power hungry survive. Then there is no illusion about what happens here. 99% of Evony wouldn't be here if they knew what Evony was.

Alternative. Give them Evony with training wheels. Then they can get thier feet wet and find out how gruesomely simple the game is with or without PvP and make an intelligent decision on the amount of money and time they want to devote to Evony.

If by that you're implyin' an extended safety period, or a way to protect the low rankers (beyond jumpin' in the nearest alliance and prayin' that they picked the winnin' side) then I wouldn't blame that too much...new players are too much of a target and gettin' wiped out within a week of startin' the game is a turn-off to a lot of people...gotta be in it for a bit longer to know you like it, decide it's worth it and really get the feel for it better before you have to start dealin' w/ complete annihilation.

Learn your lessons, build a second city, abandon your first and move to a new server. Don't give them the satisifaction of farming your first city.

I think the main problem a lot of people have is grasping the concept of a game that you can't switch on and off when you feel like it. The game continues to run if you are online or not and if you don't have a bit of time to put into it, then you need to develop a different strategy to stay alive.
Even other MMO's are more like traditional games in that your character normally leaves the game world when you log off and only re-enters when you log back on. Real Time Strategy games that are Live Online are a new concept for a lot of people. It's a matter of getting your head around the real time, always happening aspects.
If you can't cope with it, perhaps you should be playing a different game.

I don't want to see 500 emails in my inbox about so and so attacking me.

Make it optional, if you want all that spam.

Recently an enemy alliance captured one of our member's cities. A good alliance will help them out and retaliate, capturing that alliances cities and barbing them or giving it to the member who lost the city.
