I've always taken this phenomenon (you can get the same zero loss with archers too) to mean that the ATs shoot at the end of the round. The 2nd round is just the cavalry killing the wall, the ATs are long dead by then.

I long since dismissed the thought that ATs act like traps and trigger instantly' always figured that they triggered jus' as regular units do and in the middle of the battle with each other combat attack.
Bein' a last attack unit's interestin' though; can explain some of the odd reports.
I think tivie still has a report of an unkilled pike by ATs...could never explain how the ATs failed to kill him...although I completely forget the specifics of that..
That's definitely a more plausible explanation.
So fortifications will do their actions last, after unit movement and unit damage. Since it's really hard to prove that Traps/Abatis/Rockfalls trigger last, does anyone have a log of Logs not triggering when the defenders one-round the attacker?
I assume Logs act just like Traps/Abatis/Rockfall so if there are 0 Logs losses for a 1-round battle, that would prove that fortifications are the very last things to take any actions.
Just did a little test outta curiosity to see if the log would kill the archer before he iced the AT.

Lol
ROFL
A biggish loss in archers. I'll never look at 2k ballista the same again. [Shouldn't the losses been lower or did that extra 40 atk help THAT much?]
Also, the second report is ballista acting as layering for 'phracts, seeing as you didn't have any reports about it. [do you know how long it takes to convince someone to act as a test subject for the sake of getting reports?]
Not sure what to make of that...the log triggered, but didn't kill the archer...same type of thing can happen with t/a, where they trigger but don't kill anythin'...
Wanna run in a different instance, see if you can show one where the triggered log actually kills them, or where the log doesn't trigger at all?
Main reason for the massive loss is because it takes forever for the Archers to kill the ATs at half damage. With Engineering10, ATs have an "effective life" of 6250 (2000 * 2 / 0.64) so 18k ATs require 112.5m damage to kill. So that's a lot of rounds your Archers are plugging away at the ATs while their ATs + Ballista do work on your Archers.
Nice report on the 2nd one. You would've suffered less Phract casualty if you had used something like 100 Cav to let them kill the 85 Workers instead of letting the Phract waste 1 round on them.

Just curious. What do the techs/wall look like on both sides
1 Archer shouldn't kill 1 AT unless the Archer outranges the AT. If the Archer outranges the AT, that means it outranges the Log also. The fact that the Log triggered is also a question mark for me.
edit: noticed the Pult in defending side so if that's not from a Battalion, then I have no idea how to explain this at all.

- Battle went for 100 Rounds
This is easy 2 explain, ATs and Loggs have base range of 1300. Defende must have 0 Walls and 0 Arch, or range Adds 2 Loggs as well.
And attacker has High lvl Arch, so he out Ranged the AT.
Now with the Log Roll, The archer mus have got in to 1300 Range, After he had killed the AT, Soo dose the arch keep walking when hes attacking Walls?
You know there's a minimum tech requirement for ATs yes?
He has minimum Arch3 and Wall3. I was also pondering the Catapult in the "troops remaining" section (which at the moment, I'll assume comes from Mech Battalion).
Now that I think about it some more, Archers couldn't have outranged ATs period. Combat started at 1500 (AT + 200) and with min AT tech, ATs have 1671 range (assuming 4.5% Wall). So consider my mind still baffled.
