    Calculators ?

    I'm wondering if anybody uses

    http://www.evocalc.com/ ?

    I have used it in the past and the actual results varied greatly from the predicted results. Is it out dated, or just plain straight out not accurate ?
    I have fed in some of the numbers from the reports listed by Lord Darkbrady, and the evocalc said total losses to a number of the attacks that were a total victory for him.

    I'm just starting to try to grasp the mathematics of troops and defenses and just how they all work against each other/ together.
    Is there a better way to predict the outcomes of assaults, or do I need to fully understand the numbers and grab my trusty casio calculator ?

    Many thanks to the countless hours just in typing in this Guide, let alone the research that's gone before it.

    I've heard from severalpeople that traps do not set distance at 5k for cavs. Meaning that yoi should have abatis and traps in your walldefence at all times, to keep ALL troops at a certain distance.

    I have not yet seen proof of this, rather proof that denies their claim. But I just wanted to be sure, as it would affect defense a lot. Thanks

    Really? That would be interesting...

    However I still believe traps set the range at 5k for cavs, only reason why I say this is because traps kill cavs. So if it traps are sprung...then I don't see why it wouldn't start at the 5k range.

    Oh, i actually meant that abatis don't set range for non-cavs, as they dont fall into the abatis. Sorry.

    I wish I had someone to test this with. It would be nice if there was proof of that.

    i reckon (although i have nvr used it as i don't have enough pults) that if u were archer and scout bombing a city u could send a 99k pult wave w/rainbows in with them so while u r scout and archer bombing this wave slowely crawls up and so if u r on massive scale combat and haven't capped the city yet this could prove to finish it off.
    chances are by this time ur opponrnt has reinforced but all that scout and archer bombing should have them on ther knees anyway.
    this would work with more ot less any seige unit but pults and rams would be advised.

    Yes, abatis set range to 5.2k.
