    I am by no means an expert, but I have noticed that the weighting factor on the heros is more exponential than linear. In other words, the loss here might be due more to the defender's hero level, and thereby the attack attribute vs. the attackers hero level.

    might be the simplest explanation of the loss.....Please correct me if I am wrong, I am trying to grasp the statistical distribution of the battle mechanics and the more information I get the easier it is.

    BTW, Thank You very much for a most informative and helpful guide. And all the following discussions. Every time I read this guide, I get a little more out of it.

    I forgot about that report...and all over again I'm baffled. Until anyone can give an explanation to that I'm puttin' it down to a bug; it jus' doesn't make sense.

    The hero attacks are...sort of linear...it's not exponential though, each attack point gives the same bonus.

    Cataphracts on city fighting mode (as you call it) even through no wall defences.

    Cavs hve 2 way of batte,1 for valleys n 1 for cities. On valleys,they ignore any meatshields n run to highest value troops. Thats why u will always loss some archers if u use archers mainly to attack valleys. Phracts were also hving same behaviour n some ppl already tried it. As for city battle,they will hve to go pass meatshields. That make them suffer losses coz they were shot by defending archers while killing meatshields

    Hmmm,that failed scout bomb sure is interesting. Maybe devs already changed something about scouts. Hero attack stat doesnt really matter for scout bomb. I ever try 1 with 30 attack n still kill 13k archers

    Y'know, I'm not sure.
    I've flicked through dozens of reports but there's no real consistancy. Most of them deal with the layers first, but every now and then I come across a report that skips the layers and jumps the archers head on.
    I can't see any connection or seperate variable between them, though.

    I was thinkin' that they would skip the layers if there was no traps/abati and there was a vast number of archers more than anythin' else, but I'm not sure what the required ratio would be, 'cuz it looks pretty fickle.

    It's a fairly common occurance though, there's obviously some variable...jus' not sure what, yet >.>

    Could it be that cavalry/catas act different when they are accompanied by archers?

    Nope: got a report of ponies/scouts ignorin' six layers to attack 170k archers.

    I think that comment meant the first cata report had no archers while the second cata report did. There might be a range issue, maybe archery levels or wall levels, and the catas started off further away due to having archers outranging archer towers?
