I hope all of our grand kids will be able to live on mars before a bad thing happens.

You do realize that it would take millions of years for mars to even be sustainable for human life, right?

It is possible to build a station on mars (sort of like a living situation like in star trek) but building something like that would take a sheet load of $$ and a whole lota time. Im thinking more like my great-great-great-great-great grandkids will be living on mars, probably even more into the future than just that.

There's a difference between going to mars, and living on mars.

They can't just set up a tent and live there. It would take billions of dollars to build a station that could house astronauts for an extended period of time.

Uhm. You can't just..pick up some metal off of a planet. You need machines, and buildings I'd imagine. Don't exactly know a lot about metals, but i do know there are processes involved to get it.
