nothings gonna happen in 2012. remember that they said that in 2000 the computers would go all crazy and did that happen? well if u had a virus that year but no it did not happen to the majority of us so i do not really believe that the world will end in 2012 but something like that might happen

He's right, the only thing that will happen in 2012 will be man-made (example; nuclear devastation) and the whole "2012 Doomsday" thing is a crock of s**t.

That's not a fair comparison.
The millenium bug wasn't some prophetic doomsday preach about the end of the world, it was a concern that all the computers switchin' from "99" to "00" would cause problems as the computers would try to switch to "100" or "2000" and crash systems. It wasn't expected to be teh end of the world based on some mythic absence of information, it was an educated prediction about what could happen w/ imperfect computer programmin' at the turn of the century. Some folk jus' decided to take it too far.

edit@riko: unless you come up w/ somethin' more productive or substantial to say, I'd say you were better off jus' bein' quiet. By this point you've only displayed a complete abscence in knowledge in dozens of things that you brought up and you're startin' to wander into the realms of pointless spam.

Added to that...

I worked for a tobacco company at the end of last century. We really DID have a problem, because our old server was not milennium proof. It wasn't some hoax to get people spending, it was real.

We got our new server/system working on time, but kept the old one on, just to check and it crashed.
